Two bowls were listed in the pressbox today. The Liberty and Capital One. I spent several minutes talking to the Capital One guys. They want UK to be eligible soooooo badly, knowing the crowd we'd bring.

They said we'll have to win out (1 down, 2 to go), and they think if we finish 9-3 we'd have a GREAT opportunity to spend New Year's with Mickey Mouse!

We'd have a game against either Michigan, Illinois, or even Ohio St in the Capital One Bowl.

But a Outback Bowl against, Penn St, Illinois or Wisconsin would be a more realistic goal.

anybody ever been to the stadium in Orlando? I haven't, but have heard it's a real dump, especially compared with Tampa. . .. .. . . .

7-5 puts Kentucky squarely at the Liberty Bowl
8-4 puts us in the Chik-Fil-A (Peach) Bowl
9-3 puts us in the Capital One Bowl

The Citrus Bowl is a dump and in a bad part of Orlando which prompted UCF to build their on-campus stadium, Raymond James is obviously a much better venue. Either way Im within driving distance, beats the heck out of Memphis or Shreveport...

I still want the Peach Bowl because I can actually go :)

That'd be great if Vandy made it to the Music City Bowl.

Obviously a lot depends on how everyone else in the SEC finishes, but I'd think 8-4 (4-4 SEC) would have us in pretty good shape for the Outback Bowl.

would love to see them play in the Peach Bowl we owned Catlanta or would like them to play in the Music City Bowl cause they know we can fill the joint up.

I'm just going to have to disagree with this. Our getting 7 wins guarantees we won't slide below the Music City Bowl. No way and no how will the Nashville reps let us go to Shreveport or Memphis.

Depending on how many teams get more than eight wins - seven wins may put us in play for the Chik -Fillet.

8 wins will put us squarely in the sights of the Chik (Atlanta) and a possibility for Tampa (Outback).

Nine wins will get us to Orlando. Remember to get 9 we will have to have beaten a top 10 Georgia team and a top 20 or even 15 Tennessee team and would guarantee us a second place finish in the East.

I think a lot of this depends on whether LSU gets to BCS Champ game giving the SEC two BCS teams.

If that happens and we win out, why can't we be the SEC Sugar Bowl team? FL would be 9-4 and we'd be 9-3.

Totally agree. Filling half of Vandy's stadium makes a major statement that MS reps already know:we will travel.
All the bowls above MS are rooting for the cats to win.

You bring up a good point. Since I get to occasionally talk to bowl reps, I see what most fans don't.

"FANS look at the teams and see GAME opportunity. The BOWLS look at the teams and see BUSINESS opportunity."

Although the bowls want a good game, every single bowl rep I've talked to over the last few years mention the same thing again and again, that Kentucky travels well.

You're right in saying they all want us to win, and they want big blue dollars spent in THEIR towns!

New Years Day, the Cats in Florida and Mickey Mouse just a few minutes away. I can't think of anything better!

Count me as one who would rather go to the music city bowl over the Liberty Bowl. Which one is considered higher on the pecking order?

I would be ecstatic if we could get to the Chik-fil-a bowl.

I am fairly sure Music is a little better than The Liberty. Not sure though

SEC Bowl Tie-Ins (http://www.secsports.com/index.php?s=&change_well_id=2&url_article_id=44)

The Southeastern Conference has agreements to send eight of its member institutions to postseason bowl games following the 2006 season. The winner of the SEC Championship Game will automatically participate in the Bowl Championship Series comprised of the Sugar, Rose, Orange and Fiesta Bowls.

The Capital One (2nd), will then make its pick following the BCS selections. The bowl must select the team with the next best overall record or a team that is within one win of the team with the next best overall record.

The Outback, Chick-fil-A and AT&T Cotton Bowls will work with the conference office to determine picks 3-5. The Cotton Bowl has the first preference of teams from the Western Division and the Outback Bowl has first preference of teams from the Eastern Division. The Cotton or Outback Bowl can select teams outside of its divisional preference, but must not select them before the opposite bowl selects from its divisional preference. The Chick-fil-A Bowl has the selection of preference following the Cotton and Outback Bowls.

In selections 6-7, the AutoZone Liberty and Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowls will make their selections, not in any specific order, but in consultation with the SEC Office. The Bowls will rank available qualified teams in order of preference. If there are no similarities in the order of selection, the bowls will be granted its selection. If the bowls rank the same teams in preference, the team involved in the process would get its preference of which bowl to participate.
The Independence Bowl will receive the eighth selection of available SEC teams.

I loved the Nashville trip and that stadium is great. I would be back for that one for sure. I would probably be in for the peach bowl in ATL as well. I have to pay for me and my girlfriend since I promised her she could go if I went. I know people we can stay with in Nashville and ATL so that would be great.
