I hate to say I told you so, but ...

STILLWATER, Okla. -- O.J. Mayo just wouldn't listen, would he?
I wrote in the Friday Look Ahead to watch out, that Mercer was scary enough -- given the week's earlier major upset by an Atlantic Sun member -- to enter the Galen Center and ruin his debut. And then guess what happened Saturday? Yep, Mercer entered the Galen Center and ruined his debut with a 96-81 win over Southern California.
Conequently, it's now time to ask whether the Atlantic Sun is the nation's best league?
For now, I'll lean toward no.
But it's a question worth having fun with, considering that over the past four days we've seen the team picked eighth in the A-Sun (Gardner-Webb) beat the team picked third in the SEC (Kentucky) and the team picked fifth in the A-Sun (Mercer) beat the team picked sixth in the Pac-10 (Southern California). That's two wins over two nationally ranked opponents, and in between Belmont opened with a win over Cincinnati, giving the league three victories over three BCS-conference members.
Not bad, A-Sun.
Not too bad at all.
