Never was that more true than after Vanderbilt scored to tie the game at 20-apiece with 7½ minutes to play.

With the advantage of the short field, following a 42-yard kickoff return to midfield, Kentucky moved 51 yards on just six plays to retake the lead.

The key play in the drive was a 34-yard Woodson pass to tight end Jacob Tamme.

"We played the run better than we did last year against them; I think that surprised them," Johnson said. "Controlling the run, making them pass in certain situations was probably the key in playing them.

"Obviously it's frustrating but that's life in the SEC. You've got to play your best every week. If you don't, good teams take advantage of you. That's what Kentucky did."
