I was wondering if anybody had a video of the hit that Cobb had in the second half that knocked uut the Vandy receiver, I was on the other side of the field and couldnt see it very good, but we had no problem hearing it. That may have been the hardest hit I have ever seen.
:widcat:
I was also on the other side of the field (Thanks RV)too. I kept looking for a replay but they never showed one. Nor did they show a replay on any of the crappy calls that were made.
For anyone that was watching on TV. Was the hit really late?

the RBs foot had just come down in the white and he was still fighting off another UK tackler as Cobb launched himself at him. It was bang, bang but I think it was the viciousness (not meant to be negative, just a lick) of the hit that drew the flag. Bromley and the other guy both disputed the late hit call on several replays but then suddenly changed their tune to "oh yeah, that was a helmet to helmet hit, good call." The RB sustained the injury from his head striking the sideline not from Cobb's hit...

i heard the hit from in the stand but they never showed a replay on the big screen i hate that if it had of been a hit on a kentucky player they would of put it up. I miss the hit on tv anyone know where i can find it too.
The hit was pretty much in front of me (several rows up thogh) and it looked like he was on the line when Cobb went flying. Looking at the replays this afternoon, It''s hard to say that it was that late. I don't think anyone could have pulled up and not hit the guy since he was fighting for yardage for 5 yards and refused to go down. The calls were consistent for Vandy and inconsistent for UK.
The Little "slam down" where the fumble occured was far worse than the Cobb hit. Little could have had a broken neck had he hit solid on the ground.

The Vandy guy had one foot in bounds and one foot out. Too close to call a late hit. It was the fact that Cobb hit him in the head helmet to helmet that got the personal foul. It was a good call. What happened when his head hit the ground doesn't affect the call. A player is not allowed to hit helmet to helmet, especially when the guy he is hitting has already been held up and is basically defenseless.

I would never want a player to be injured but I love the aggressiveness. We have some hitters. I like that..

I taped the game and this description fits the play exactly. Most of his foot had just come down and his heel was in bounds, his other foot was up so he was OB. I don't think Cobb had time to stop, but the helmet to helmet caused the flags.
