View Full Version : My SEC team record projections 11-12
SEC East
Georgia 10-2, 6-2
Florida 9-3, 5-3
Tennessee 8-4, 5-3
Kentucky 8-4, 4-4
South Carolina 7-5, 3-5
Vanderbilt 6-6, 2-6
SEC West
LSU 11-1, 7-1
Auburn 8-4, 5-3
Mississippi St 7-5, 4-4
Alabama 7-5, 4-4
Arkansas 7-5, 3-5
Mississippi 3-9, 0-8
I expect LSU and Georgia to meet in the SEC CG and both to get BCS bids.
Florida to the Capital One in Orlando
Auburn to the Cotton in Dallas
Kentucky to the Outback in Tampa vs Penn State
Tennessee to the Peach in Atlanta
Bama to Music City in Nashville
Arkansas to Liberty in Memphis
Mississippi State to Independance in Shreveport
South Carolina and Vandy looking for an at large somewhere

Then I take it that you think weŽll lose to Georgia, and beat Tennessee?

Just curious, why Arkansas to the Liberty and Mississippi State to the Independence instead of vice-versa? I also wonder if one of those bowls would take South Carolina ahead of Arkansas or Mississippi State. I assume Gamecock fans travel prodigiously. Arkansas, I would expect to have a good following on the road. MSU, I'm not so sure.
Here's my prediction, not much different than yours:
LSU in the BCS championship game
Georgia to the Sugar Bowl
Florida to the Capital One
Auburn vs. Alabama winner to the Cotton
Kentucky, Tennessee and the Auburn vs. Alabama loser to the Outback and ChikFilA and Music City, not sure which to which
Arkansas and Mississippi State to the Liberty and Independence, not sure which to which
South Carolina and maybe Vanderbilt hoping to get into something like the Poinsettia or Las Vegas or Armed Forces
Then I take it that you think we´ll lose to Georgia, and beat Tennessee?
Yeah that's what my head says but my heart says we win out.

Just picking from 7-5 teams and my choice would be to leave the ol ball coach on the outside looking in.

I have been hoping to myself that we play Penn State in a bowl game this year. I guess that comes from longtime watching Paterno and Penn State over the many years. I used to love his smashmouth play and those basic "kick your tail up and down the field and make you like it" helmets and jerseys. I also think it will be a sad end to an era of great football played the way it was meant to be played when Papa Joe retires. Heck the way it is looking he may just turn to stone some day on the sidelines.:icon_lol:

V had GA beat several weeks back & fumbled late. We should have won by more at V without all the refs' "help". Yes, GA is improved since then. Yes, we're at GA. And I still think we have a decent shot.

Well, I'm not exactly sure how the SEC and bowls work. I think the 3rd best SEC team usually goes to the Outback bowl but it's in Tampa and I'm sure they want teams from out of town in that.
Who usually goes to the Chick-FIL-a bowl? Maybe the Gators go to that. :shrug1:
I don't know, usually the Capital One bowl is a bunch of mediocre teams isn't it? :shrug1:

The Capital One takes the best SEC team and the best Big Ten team not getting BCS bids. Most would say that it's the most prestigious non-BCS bowl in terms of who plays in it.
The teams that end up in the Outback are left over from the SEC and Big Ten after the Capital One gets their picks.
The Chik-Fil-A is generally (though not always) a cut under that for the SEC team, and takes the best ACC team that doesn't get a BCS bid.
So, like you, I wouldn't mind it if UK went to the Capital One and Florida went to the Outback or ChikFilA. (I expect the reverse, though.)

The Chik-Fil-A is actually the second best non-BCS ACC team. The Gator gets the best team.

I think that's the other way around. Mandel says so, anyway:

Depends on what conference the Gator picks. Click link below.
