This may be a stupid thing to say for I have said it before and probably should not put up a new thread for this but I just couldn't help myself!:shrug1::shock::eek:
I absolutely love this team. They will go down in my feeble mind's cob-webbed over history as being one of my all-time favorites. They will be remembered as the team that put us on the forward track to the historical turnaround of the program. We will not look back in the future to where we have been since the beginning of football time in the Bluegrass but will be plowing forward in the fertile grounds this team has sweated blood for us to attain. So here's to this team and this coach.:widcat::thumbup: As Sinatra said..'thanks for the memories.'

I would say stupid but premature. Lose the next three games and I doubt you'll feel that way. Great ride - so far. There's work to be done.

Uhhhh...... Andy, "Thanks For The Memories" would be the trademark theme song for Bob Hope.
But, I'll give you partial credit for mentioning Sinatra, though the song should be "My Way". Hey, "My Way" works for this team too.

I guess you don't know Guns. If he says it, he means it.
He has too much character to make waffles.

I will say it....whatever happens the next two games..I LOVE this team!!!!
When they let you know they love your being at the catwalk, pose for pictures, sign autographs, and give great big hugs to you just because you cheered your voice away....you know you have a special group of guys.

First UK team to win as many as seven games in back to back seasons in 30 years.

the next two games, I love this team. This team is not made up of 5 star players, but when the game is on the line they step up. Even in the games that they have lost, they stepped up to the microphone and answered the hard questions. They didn't try to place the blame anywhere but squarely on their shoulders. They are not whiners and criers, they are winners in every sense of the word. Some will move on to the the NFL, some will play their last football games at UK, but they will always be wished the very best from this thankful fan.
I not only believe in them in football, I believe in them in life.
GO BIG BLUE!!!

Yeah Dave I was not sure about who sang that song when I typed it. Now since you pointed it out I can see ole Bob singing that..on so many ships with our fighting men watching. He did more for moral than most except maybe some of them gal movie stars back in the day.:icon_lol:
Yeah Tim my6 man I am like butta..on a roll!:icon_lol:

PS - Dave I think Sinatra's 'My Way' would fit Coach Brooks to a T. For he has sure done it his way..thank goodness.

:thumbup:, bleedblue79. Also, count me as a "thankful fan" who feels the same. In regard to being thankful, POEKLM is so right about how appreciative these special young men are for our support of them.
Too, the Cats' Pause hosts this week were praising this special group of seniors, specifically. They happened to mention Keenan Burton and Wesley Woodyard, even more specifically. Ironically, bleedblue79, they were saying that these guys would go so far IN LIFE. :) Also, sure, I likewise believe in these young men in life, besides on the field.
I, like you, POEKLM, and bleedbluelady, SO LOVE this team (and, yes, the coaching staff, too). Thanks for the GREAT post and thread, Gunsmoke. :)

Where were you when the German's bombed Pearl Harbor? :icon_lol:
Ignoring the negative spin anyone would want to try to put on this thought I am 100% in step with you Gunsmoke.
For me this team encompasses the past few seasons. My positive memories of 'This Team' are all bundled up in this senior class and all they have achieved. Plus you, we and others have the good fortune of having gotten to know a few of the players and that makes it much more special.
