Washington originally committed to USC (Southern Cal) and then got out of it. He has tried to get eligible for this class for a long time and it sounds like he finally did. When he was like a Junior in high school he was rated really high because of his athleticism and game (also because the experts thought he would grow a few more inches). Well he never grew any taller than 6'6" and his ranking dropped a lot because of that. I think Washington compared his game to Charles Barkley. I have saw a few highlight videos and from what I can tell, he likes to bang down low. I think we could really use him this year. Only down side is his attitude. He sat out his high school's tournament game because they were losing. Either way, I would love to see him in blue and white.:icon_mrgreen:

If he is that big a pouter, why would you want him? And what do we need with another 6'6" player.

With the injuries we have and lack of depth on the inside, if he likes to play down low and can contribute then why not take him.:shrug1:

If Gillispie decides he can play then I wont complain.

After watching those linked videos of him, I'd take him in a heartbeat. This guy has a bit of a mean streak and does not shy away from contact at all from what I could tell - he is looking to posterize and we need some attitude like that. He moves very well for a guy his size also.

Why wouldnt you want a 6'6 POST player. This guy is a true post player not someone who was taller than everyone in high school so they were good. He has the talent and potential to give us HUGE minutes and production if he comes in. Let him come and have him and Patterson pushing people around and grabbin 10 boards a piece

Exactly. Chuck Hayes was 6'6" but he was a banger and a great post player for us. Charles Barkley was only like 6'4 or something, and he played in the post. As long as you are a strong, tough, banging rebounder then it doesn't matter how tall you are (unless you're like 5'11 or something....)

asked about his height, Barkley once said "who cares, if you can play, you can play".

He was also once asked, after he threw a guy threw a plate glass window, "do you have any regrets about throwing the dude through a window"? and Barkley replied, "yes, we weren't on the second floor".

I agree. He looks like a beast with no quit in him. Plus he's left handed and can work the post opposite PP.

I say take him in a heartbeat just looking at his videos tells me he is better then Stevenson, Harris, and Williams. He is a banger and is athletic, we need him.

Listen, I am not trying to be difficult but is the guy a 4 or 5 star or what. I simply have not seen anything about him as many of you apparently have. I will agree though if our coach wants him thats good enough for me.

I think it might have been stated elsewhere, but I believe he was a 4 star originally. Then when he didn't grow past 6'6 that didn't help, but plus his grade eligibility really held him back. He still is a banger which we desperately DESPERATELY need.
