Do-Over?

Here´s a new one for you all. Last night, North Bullitt takes on Lone Oak. The center snaps the ball unexpectedly over the QB´s head, the rear linesman CATCHES the ball and downs it, preventing it from going into the end zone. Home cooking or bad officiating? You decide!

Then what´s even funnier is that he later picks up the ball again and drops onto the ground, like a free drop in golf! :icon_confused:

Not sure why the referee blew the whistle either. He's part of the field.

Never saw anything like that before.

In the first place, the referee was out of position. He should have been to either side outside the tackle. Second, he simply reacted to the ball heading toward him, and when he realized he had caught the ball, he dropped it. If he blew his whistle, the ball was dead where he dropped it, but the offense has the choice of the result of the play or replaying the down. I'm sure their choice was to replay.

Because I've had things like that happen, I know how embarrased he was.
