Will Tebow go down as one of the best QBs to play college? I really think he compares to Steve Young a lot, and Im not just saying that because they are left handed. I honestly think that we have a very good chance to watch a future hall of famer in Tebow and think he will go down in history as one of the best

Not if he loses 3 or 4 games a year. His stats are MEANINGLESS if he doesn't back it up with winning championships. To be considered one of the alltime greats thats what you have to do. This year he didn't. I reserve opinion on wether he ever will.

Will Tebow stay at Florida for two more years? If he stays four years, he will break most of the NCAA QB records. If he leaves after next year, he will probably break the bank account of an NFL team owner.

Tebow is a great QB but for his sake he better quit running as much. He was already banged up this year and defenses are going to key on him even more in the future.

My thoughts:

He's an excellent QB, he is a very good passer and he is outstanding running the ball. And he is very young, just a true sophomore, no redshirt year, 19 years old I guess. He's likely to get considerably better, both in terms of his own skill and experience, and in terms of the team around him getting better as Meyer begins to fill the roster - especially the guys in skill positions on offense - with his own recruits brought in to fill his needs (most especially speed).

Having said that, I would not be surprised to see him stay all four years at Florida. And I think he'll rewrite the record books in some categories.

Granted a National title his freshman year but he had very little to do with it.

I disagree. Tebow was a difference maker last year running the ball. FL doesn't win the NC without him. Chris Leak sure isn't lighting it up in the NFL this year. He's not even on a practice squad.

that statement is so wrong it's mindboggling. . . . and as for this year, if he wasn't their QB they would've lost 7 or 8 games instead of 3. . .. .

This is very true.

The Gators lost 3 games this year because of their defense. Too young and inexperienced.

I would imagine the Gators will contend for a National Title next year.

Agreed. One commentator stated that if he ran that much in the NFL, whoever he played for better have 3 of him - because that's how many they'd need a game.

One of the greatest ever? I'm not ready to say that. He fits a system. So do a lot of other guys.

I would imagine that you need to start acting like more of a KY fan and start discussing some basketball. :icon_mrgreen:

You guys watch too much ESPN. How do you annoint a sophmore on a 9-3 club the best QB ever . Bull!!! Bought into the hype machine is what you've done. Call me in two years, if he hasn't gotten hurt and he wins an NCAA or even an SEC title as the starter and I might find your argument more credible. Just cause every talking head in media land screams something don't make it so. Right now I can think of about a dozen guys who have played the position whos jocks he couldn't hold.

I don't know that anyone said that Tebow was "the best QB ever", but, OK, tell us then: Who was "the best QB ever", and 1) how many games did they start as a sophomore, and 2) what was their team's record when they started as a sophomore? (Surely "the best QB ever" didn't sit on the bench as a sophomore or finish worse than 9-3, right?)

Speaking of rebuffing...

I remember a certain someone saying sometime last year that "opposing defenses will figure Tim Tebow out by week 5?"

Care to adjust that statement. :icon_mrgreen:

He has done things this year the NO OTHER QB IN HISTORY HAS DONE!!!!! But you are right, its all hype. When Pulley comes in next year and throws for 25 and rushes for 25 TDs let me know

Tebow is a tough mother and can throw with accuracy. Incidentally, I just saw him walking down the street about 45 min ago, whering the cast on his right hand.
But what this entire discussion has lacked is someone pointing out how one-dimensional uf was this year because they had to be. Tebows numbers were so high because of his rushing stats (his passing stats were good but not sensasional) Why were his rushing stats so high ? Because uf has no backs. Their starter, kestahn moore, would have probably been 4th string on our team. Tebow was the gators' best rusher by such a wide margin it's ridiculous (not including Harvin because I'm tallking about guys who can go up the middle) But he is a great rusher, probably the best rushing qb in the ncaa I've personally ever seen. If you're urban meyer, why not stick with what works ? Give the O line alot of credit this year too though

I do dislike the Gators and thier fans almost as much as TENNESSEE. I am not saying the kid isn't good , HE IS. What I'm saying isn't he hasn't done anything yet that would rank him as one of the games alltime greats.
