"This team has not lost a game in regulation. I know it does not mean much to you guys (media.) The point is, in a 60 minutes game, we play as competitive as we can be. There is not a team that we have played that has bested us in the first 60 minutes. If you had to look at the length and width of the game, that is how it is measured. Then you go to overtime, and I think our overtime system is just as flawed as any other overtime system. It’s just the way it is and it is probably correct. You have to decide it then where it takes the length of the field and certain situations out of it. It is imperfect, but a darn good system. You tell me if there are other teams in this country that can say that. If you just give us ties, like in the old system, we are undefeated with two ties. Maybe that adds up as one lost."

Well, um, okay, champ. Let's not talk so much righ now, 'kay?

He might just as well have said: "They didn't beat us, we just ran out of time."

It would make about as much sense and he could have used less words. :icon_mrgreen:

I did not hear the interview, but that whole statement just reads real dumb.

LSU granted Michigan permission to talk to Miles after the SECCG. With the coach flirting with Michigan two days before the SECCG, I bet 100% of the fans down there want the guy gone, I know I would.

I agree with you with regard to that in bold. He could have left that out and everything else is essentially accurate. Although I don't agree with him regarding the overtime system. I don't have a problem with that. I wish they would adopt that type of system for the NFL. Sudden death is geared solely to tee vee time and requires the luck of the coin toss, essentially.

You play to win the game! You don't play to tie. Dummy. I have never really thought Miles was that great of a coach and these statements don't make me think any more highly of him. If he does go to Michigan I would bet Ohio State people will be doing cartwheels in anticipation of keeping their recent dominance over Michigan.

Although he makes a good point. LSU is the only team in the country (other than Hawaii) that has not lost a game in regulation this season. :shrug1: Too little too late at this point, but interesting nonetheless.

I would think that if you had the better team, the longer the game the more it favors you. Guess not in his mind.

Miles statement reminds me of 'We almost Won' and 'She's almost Pregnant'. Almost don't count Les.

This dingbat has coached the team with arguably the best talent in the nation to four losses in the past two years. If you were to ask all 120 Division 1 coaches if they would trade their entire squad for LSU's roster, almost to a man the answer would be a resounding yes.

LSU, with a roster loaded with close to 85 five and four star recruits many coaches could work wonders with their second and third team players.
