Jon Hood (4 stars), an 09 guard from Madisonville, KY was at the game this afternoon and sitting right behind our bench. I believe he was there with his father. Any news if he was making a visit or how it went?

Looked around, but didn't see any other info. Apparently that was his Dad sitting there too.

I continue to hear mixed responses about Jon from the local people here. I still haven't had a chance to go see him play this year, but I plan to. There are some that say he's not even the best player on the Maroons, and that Coach was impressed with another North player when he made his visit a couple of months back.

I'll just have to figure it out for myself, I guess.

I've heard the same things (i.e., mixed opinions on Hood) out of Madisonville as well.

(I grew up there and family is still there.)

I know this thread wasn't about whether Jon Hood is a good ball player or not, but I have heard others say similar things questioning his ability. Here's my thoughts for those who care.

:shrug1: I don't understand why people are down on this kid or think he is not the best player on the team. I have seen him play, and I believe he is the real deal. They do have another really good player on that team, but from what I have seen Hood can do it all. He can dribble the ball well and thru traffic...he gets some monster jams!! He can pass, block shots and plays very good "D". And he is young, 6'6", fast, smart and has another year of High School after this. He plays every position for Madisonville from center to guard and does well at them all. When it gets crunch time they will get the ball in his hands.

And no, I'm not his daddy. :icon_biggrin:

I don't see being a great outside shooter listed there. If that was an oversight, please amend. Otherwise, I've had enough of slasher two guards who aren't pure shooters.
