so I went. It was cold and drizzling. I didn't go to the whole practice, due to other comitments. I'm no scout so there isn't much I can tell you about the practice itself, other than Marcus McClinton wasn't dressed, but was in the nutter center working out. I didn't see Dicky Lyons, but don't look at that as anything other than the fact that I didn't see him, no rumor starting from me.

I went inside to use the bathroom and Keenan Burton showed me where it was, which made me giggle like a school girl.

At the end of practice they were doing 100 yard dashes, and Rafael Little was playing catch with some kids while he was waiting his turn to run.

After the practice, the players and coaches came over to talk to fans and reporters. Got autographs from Marcus, Raf, Rich Brooks, Steve Johnson, Wesley Woodyard, Jacob Tamme, and Andre Woodson.

Tamme asked me if the polls had come out yet, and i told him it was OSU and LSU at 1 and 2. He smiled and I said "isn't it great that LSU is in the title game, and WE beat them" and then I paused and said "well you beat them, I watched" and he put his hand and my shoulder and said "no, WE beat them."

When talking to Andre, I said that he needed 3 TD's in the next game, and he asked why. I told him to catch up with Jared Lorenzen. He looked like he had absolutley no idea that such a record even existed, let alone that he was so close to breaking it. I think that's great because it says to me he doesn't care, and that he'd rather win than break the record

Ryan, you observed the things that make this Senior class so very special. It's about team and name of the front of the jersey.

Last year I bought two tickets to the MCB. This year I bought 4. I know that most schools (especially U of L) would find it difficult to become excited about a lesser bowl. Truthfully, I would bet on the Cats if they lined up against any bowl team. This team is a joy to support.

These are exceptional men and I would love to keep them in Kentucky blue. By the way, those uniforms looked more intimidating this year. I'm pretty sure that the SEC teams would rather not line up against them again.

IMO, this bowl season will answer whether the SEC is really that good or really that bad. We all know there is plenty of parity in the SEC on a given Saturday.

To realize that most of these players came in as 2-star recruits, I can only hope that we don't sacrifice character to get an extra star beside a recuits name. I'll take these 2-star All-SEC players anytime.

Also, IMO Keenan Burton may have been the most important recruit in UK history and his worth cannot be measured on the playing field alone.

FSU beat Alabama and I'm quite sure they look at Kentucky as a football school wannabe. The Semi-holes will soon get a new one. Cats are looking to regain some respect.

Jacob's comments are indicative of a young man who one day will make his mark in industry or government.

AMEN to that, Diz! Too, that's why the loss to UT hurt me more than any loss ever. Those guys SO DESERVED to leave Commonwealth as a winner on the field, just as they are in life itself (which is more important, of course).

Too, I hear you about Keenan's perhaps being the most important recruit in UK history, not basing it just on the playing field alone. However, that just MIGHT be Wesley Woodyard because of his contributions off the field, especially in recruiting players to this team. Both have excelled in leadership on their respective sides of the field. Both have been extremely kind to fans, giving their time. I cannot bear to think of not seeing those two at Cat Walks next season.

Then there is no finer guy than Jacob Tamme, who has especially contributed to the community. It's of significance that those three young men were the ones who pleaded the hardest that Mitch Barnhart retain Coach Brooks as coach when so many fans had wanted him to be fired.

Add Andre Woodson and Rafael Little and ALL the seniors who were exceptional young men and will be so missed. As bleedbluelady said, they are all about TEAM and the name that is on the FRONT of the jersey.

I would have LOVED to have gone to the practice if I had been in Lexington. Actually, Saturday's had also been open to the fans, according to what I had read. Unfortunately, we had gotten tickets to the North Carolina basketball game the day of the UT game, and I gave the tickets to our son after the loss, as I could not bear to think of traveling to Lexington as depressed as I felt about our seniors' pain. Oh, well. :icon_sad: Anyway, I'm glad that our players received some positive attention and love from some of you. They deserve every bit of it! :)

WW's CRB imitation video is priceless. CRB laughs too.
