Great matchup, better than playing BC in Atlanta. Plus everyone will be able to go out and celebrate the New Year with a win.

Should be a nice match-up. Although I didn't get to watch F$U any this year.

Can anybody give a preview sometime?

Ha - the first game for Clemson after we beat them was a win over Florida State. That's auspicious.

I am glad UK is going to play a program with a good name and history. If any of the players are disappointed about not getting to a better bowl game this year, I would think the chances of a letdown are less facing off with Florida State as opposed to, say, Wake Forest.

Though this may not be one of FSU's best ever squads, they're not a pushover. They beat Alabama this year, and also Colorado, Boston College and Maryland.

Then again they only scored 27 points against Mike Archer's NC State defense, and they lost to Wake Forest.

UK can beat them, if the Wildcats come out and play hard. They can't take the field assuming they're a better team.

Not a fan of NYE games, but at least we're bowling.

Rest assured that others can do this better than I can. Here are a few observations though:

Very even playcalling - they ran the ball on about as many plays as they passed it this season.

Their offense wasn't prolific this year. Compared to Kentucky, they punted more often, and they had significantly fewer rushing yards and passing yards. They also committed more penalties.

They have a very solid kicker - something Clemson lacked last year (though the playing surface was horrible - does anyone know if it'll be in better shape for the game this year?).

UK will need its offense to perform well. FSU's offense won't be a greater challenge than the units UK faced in SEC play.

Good points JPS. I also think playing FSU gets our players up for the game. Florida State is still Florida State and everyone wants to beat them, just like our B-ball team.

Thanks JPS. Since I know nothing about F$U, any info is better than what I had :icon_lol:. I've been reading around some since that post, and they sound like a team we can beat if we come to play. It's a nice opportunity to play a team with history, and stand a good chance to beat them. History means so much in college football, and beating a historically good program is just another step in the direction we are going.

an hour ago I heard Jeff Fisher on the Titans' post-game show compliment the grounds crew for the excellent condition of the field for their game today against Houston. . .evidently it had rained there a lot this week . . .. when I heard him say that, I immediately thought about the MCB last year, you're right, the field was in absolutely horrible condition. ....

Just tried to get tickets on ticketmaster, and had no luck.

Last year my son and I were able to go to the MCB and I got tickets on StubHub nearly a week after UK knew they were going to Nashville. A bit pricey ($175 each) but were 9 rows back of the UK bench at the 40 yard line and included a morning tailgate brunch (steak, ribs and eggs).

I can't go this year as we are visiting family in Winchester and Louisville but will be watching on TV.

Good luck to all trying to get tickets. My son and I had a blast last year driving up from Atlanta.

You might try some ebay auctions. At least there you can offer what you think is fair, and you lose nothing if they end up being bid beyond what you want to pay.

I detest scalpers and brokers but StubHub and the like have tickets. After adding on all the multiple and ridiculous TicketMaster fees, the cost difference isn't that appalling. Still, though, it's $50 a seat for not so good tickets, $150-$300 for lower level.

Good luck; I hope you get some seats. (If you do, they will be better than mine, which are in the second row from the very top in the top level in the corner . . . about 30 people in the whole stadium will have worse seats than I do . . . )

i was one of the lucky ones last year that went but paid 300 doller for my one seat and i was on the 50 yard line front row on UK Side great seat but im not worried bout tickets this year i might go down there the day of the game and find some or someone on the football team to get me one. I'm not spending that much for a ticket this year.
