It'll be tough for UK to finish the season ranked. We'll need a lot of teams to lose, and probably to wallop FSU.

We finish the season with wins over two teams in the penultimate poll (#2 LSU and #25 Arkansas), a 4 OT loss to #16 Tennessee, a close loss to #9 Florida and a respectable performance against #4 Georgia.

#15 Clemson, we beat in their final game before this season.

Looks like Les's politicing about not losing a game in regulation helped them. This will probably be the BCS championship game. Like others have stated, this year more than any other shows why a playoff is needed. No clear cut favorites all season and certainly not now.

If any Oklahoma fans dare to complain about it being OSU vs. LSU, they need to be reminded that the real BCS travesty was when Oklahoma got in ahead of an undefeated Auburn team, and then OU was toasted badly by Southern Cal.

I for one think Miles had a great point about overtime. They would be 11-0-2 under the old rules. Further, though, the computer ratings really ought to treat an overtime loss differently than a loss in regulation. First of all, losing by a TD in OT is a much closer loss than losing by one in regulation in at least 9 out of 10 games. Secondly, though, in OT, unlike in regulation, a loss may be the result of a coin toss as much as anything else. Actually I guess a better way to put that is that in an overtime game things like the coin toss have much greater significance compared to on the field play.

I agree, JPS, while overtime games may be entertaining to watch, I don't believe that they are a fair representation to decide the outcome of the games. At that point, it's more of a game of chance than skill.
