Okay, I've got no reason to doubt any of the posts made about the availability of tickets (or lack thereof) so don't get me wrong here.

I'm just having an hard time understanding how there can only be <500 seast left when the schools have only today been acknowledged. I thought there were sections blocked off for both schools to sell and they couldn't be touched? Is there something going on I'm not picking up on?

I'm all for cheap ticket prices and Lord know I can afford 15 bucks but I don't know that I want to sit at the very top level of a football stadium in January with temperatures being what they are. I love our 'Cats and no one is happier than me that we're going bowling again but I'm not exactly a spring chicken anymore and I have this thing about freezing to death, even if I am watching the 'Cats while I'm doing it.

During the press conference it was said it officially became a sellout within minutes of the announcement.

I know I just tried to get 2 tickets and every section was soldout! Luckily my brother has season tickets and already had me a couple so I just got a couple parking passes.

How long did it take last year for UK to tell season ticket holders if they got seats or not?

last year I was ultra lucky, because I bought 3 tickets in the very top row the day after the game was announced.

Well if you are a season ticket holder you should have gotten your order form for the bowl tickets already. I think it took a week or so for them to send them to my brother last year.

Just got in for a couple of passes to go w/ my season tickets, good looking out on the parking reminder.

For those that don't have tickets yet, it would be nice if someone (I will probably be out of town when the tickets arrive at my house) would post up when the season ticket holders start getting their physical tickets. The secondary market should start having them for sale then.

Here's how I think tickets are allotted.

The total tickets available are divided among the following entities:
Bowl dignitaries
SEC league office
ACC league office
Media
SEC school
ACC school
General AdmissionFirst, you take #1 through #4 out of the mix because they're unavailable unless you "know someone."

The SEC and ACC schools are permitted to distribute their allotments however they see fit. The bowl assumes that all these tickets will be sold because the bowl no longer has control over them.

So, when the bowl announces that the game is sold out what they really mean is that the General Admission tickets are sold out. There's a presumption that the schools will be able to sell their individual allotments. Occasionally that doesn't happen and a school returns its unsold portion to the bowl which in turn puts them up for sale.

UK's and FSU's allotments may or may not be sold out. UK permitted its season ticket holders to pre-order tickets for any or all bowls for which UK might become eligible. If there were enough orders, then UK's allotment is also sold out. If not, UK will presumably put the unsold tickets on sale to the general public. Same for FSU.

But regardless, the bowl considers it a sellout because it has distributed all the tickets it has to sell.

2007 Music City Bowl Ticket Information

Kentucky has been selected to play in the 2007 Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowl in Nashville on December 31 vs. Florida State. Click here to visit the official website of the Music City Bowl.

Bowl Information for Football Season Ticket Holders

UK Football season ticket holders have pre-ordered over 27,000 tickets between November 6 and November 29. Our original SEC ticket allotment consists of 11,000 tickets at the $70 and $50 price levels. We have also been able to secure an additional 16,000 tickets to help fulfill our pre-order requests, and allow our fans to attend the game in the best possible seats available. Pre-ordered tickets assigned through the UK Ticket Office will be priced at $70, $50, $35, and $15. We have been able to secure enough tickets to fill ALL pre-orders that were submitted by the November 29 deadline. At this time, UK is SOLD OUT of its entire bowl ticket allotment, and we are unable to accept any additional orders.

BTW, I tried to order a parking pass from the mcb website - they are all gone.

jwade this is off topic but you got a fine looking beagle hound there. I grew up with them from birth on. For my beliefs you cannot beat a beagle. Period exclamation mark.

Thanks. That's Molly and she's about 14 years young (don't know exactly, we got her from the Lex Humane Society). She's slowed down a lot but she's still the queen around these parts.

I'll second that! There is nothing, I mean nothing, like the love from a hound dog...especially a beetlehound! :)

Between seeing Molly's sweet face and Gunsmoke's primo avatar, you guys are a fine coupla Wildcat fans! :)

I would say that a very large number of people booked early in anticipation of UK coming to Nashville. Last week, I decided to book 6 club level tickets, knowing that I could go regardless, or a local client or friend could take my place. It was well worth the gamble in this case. I have actually booked early the last two years.

One thing that I've learned -- better to book tickets to anything you think you MIGHT want to go to early. It is easy to get rid of tickets when you don't want them, but a pain to find a hot ticket too late.

I basically keep a file folder of tickets to anything happening around here in my office. When I decide if I'm going or not, I take the ones what won't be used and give them to clients or staff (or sell them in some rare cases -- I think I've sold 4 seats to anything all year though). I actually thought I had ordered 6 tickets, just looked and it was actually 8. So looks like I'll have 8 tickets (unless I find a deal on a few more out there), 3 hotel rooms, and 2 parking passes. The only thing I waited on until after the game was announced was the parking.

I think you're right Jim, the Music City Bowl has MAJOR media partnerships. (I'm in the Nashville TV market, so I see this)

Over the next few weeks many of those stations will be promoting the heck out of the game, with ticket giveaways, etc.

The ABC affiliate sponsors the Coaches Luncheon, which was listed as "sold out" even before the teams were announced.

Just so you guys know, the SPORTS guys aren't getting the tickets. It's the ADVERTISING departments! (nuttin' wrong with that)

I just got confirmation that I got all the tickets I ordered for the MCB. Of course, I have no idea where my seats are.
