I think you have some old information. He declared for the 2005 NBA Draft - after being dismissed fromhis prep team in November of 2004. According to Mike DeCourcy he verbaled to UK, but UK had never offered the scholarship. He would have been a freshman this year...

And this from Victoria Sun of the Cincinnati Post dated 11/17/04 ~ http://www.cincypost.com/2004/11/17/ukhoop11-17-2004.html
"UK was involved with 6-9 Mount Olive Prep Academy (Marietta, Ga.) center Curtis Brown Jr., but that relationship was also recently terminated.
Brown, who visited UK on Nov. 4, was dismissed from the Mount Olive team over the weekend for a violation of the school's attendance policy and unspecified team rules.
Since taking his visit to UK, Brown reportedly did not communicate with school officials during a seven-day absence from school and missed a week and a half of practice due to several deaths in his family.
"Curtis and the Brown family needed some personal time," Mount Olive head coach Garrick Respress said in a new release. "I understand that there will be times and challenges that force a family to turn to one another.
"The bottom line is we have lost a very good player. This has been a major distraction to our basketball team. We simply need to move forward. We will learn our new roles and grow together on and off of the floor."
Respress did not comment on the specifics that led to Brown's dismissal but added, "Curtis Brown Jr. is a very good basketball player. He is an even better person. It is disappointing that we have all had to deal with the outside circumstances and forces that have led our school officials to make this decision."

A costly mistake on his behalf that had ripple effects on this team as well. We sorely needed PF and he could have been our answer. How we have quickly forgotten these things.

Anyone know his current status?
I'm in a forgiving mood when it comes to Power Forwards these days ... ;)
