Fox On Beard

While looking for the legion article on the fox website i noticed they had in big headline letters on the side along with other headlines about beard...the headline was about 4 words long and it mentioned him in a scandel...this sorta bothered me..i mean the news is his death...dont know if anyone else noticed this but i kinda felt it was uncalled for.

It was uncalled for because Ralph Beard had to pay dearly for that scandal. It ended a promising pro-career for him when his whole life was basketball. Once he said it almost drove him to suicide. The press can be very cruel when they want to be.

One thing that they couldn't find though was any scandal on Tommy Kron because Kron was always sqeaky clean. Look at a picture of Tommy Kron in the 1965-66 Rupp's Runts. He looked like the all American basketball player with an integrity to match his looks. The press could hunt from now to doomsday and never find anything on Kron.

Ralph Beard was one of the classiest, most wonderful people that I ever met.
It's unfortunate that no matter how many great accomplishments you have in this life, certain folks only want to emphasize a mistake of youth, made long ago and paid for dearly.
