I wonder if Coach understood this part of Wildcat Nation (count me amongst em) the passion of the fans fuels a rumor mill that is insatiable. One young man leaves and it is a spark that set's off the blaze. Sorry Coach G but, we don't just bleed blue we also eat drink and sleep blue BTW is Carter leaving?:icon_mrgreen:

Probably, but not to this extent I bet.
Kentucky is the best and the worst college job in the country.
Right now it likely feels closer to the latter than the former..............:icon_lol:

Another RUMOR is that when he arrived in Lexington and found out just how fanatic we were, he wanted to return to A&M. Upon this realization, the A&M job had already been filled.

That is absolute horse hockey. BCG came from TX A&M- a place where dozens of football boosters were spending $1,400 a month on Franchione's internet newsletter. WHEN THEY WERE LOSING!!
Aggie fans are darn rabid about football (a very good friend of mine is a TX A&M alum) and I'm certain Gillispie saw that side of things in College Station.
Now, UK is a different level, but not that much different. There's ZERO chance he walked into the Kentucky gig thinking it would be less than 24/7. Good gravy, BCG worked 23/6.5 at A&M. It's not like he was looking for a break at UK.

Yeah, but basketball is to Texas as it is to Florida.
Football rules the roost at both locales..................

Agreed, that's my point. BCG came from a rabid football school where he had to see what it was like for Franchione. No way he wanted to run and hide after a few days on the job in Lexington.

Okay. I thought you were infering that A&M basketball fans were equally rabid.
