I've read a lot of comments on Alex's situation and I'm in complete agreement with the frustration and I can appreciate everyone's opinion on the influence of his mother in this situation. Everyone has their own opinions when it comes to religion and that's fine, but some of the comments I've read have gotten perilously close to being insulting and derogatory to people of the Christian faith. I'm certain it wasn't intentional and I'm not calling any one person out, and I'm sure not everyone is going to agree with me. All I'm asking is that everyone think out their posts before they comment, that's all.

IMO, the best thing we can all do is welcome Alex back if he decides to stay and leave the matter of his faith between him and his parents. Hopefully, he'll stay and become the fantastic player we hope he will be and this will become a dead issue quickly.

In my eyes this isnt much different than what we went through with Joe Crawford, the only difference is Legions mother has a key role in this.

Hopefully he decides to return, because we NEED him.

Legion's mother's intentions in all of this are good, and that's something some people are forgetting. She's doing what every good parent aspires to do: protect her son and help him succeed. She may be doing more harm than good, but at least her intentions is in the right place. Better her than, say, Juan Dixon's or Azubuike's father.

I remember a lot of "mother-bashing" with Patrick Patterson's mother during his recruitment. She was described as a prima-donna, a control freak, and I even saw the words "media whore" multiple times. Now everybody seems to agree that Patterson and his mother handled the recruitment process beautifully.

Exactly DC. And, if Legion changes his mind and returns, Mama's statement about leaving it up to him will be hailed as great parental guidance. She's doing what she thinks is best - I don't know enough about the situation to say if she's right or she's wrong.

I do know this - you mess with my kids - and I mess with you. None of us, who are parents, are always guilty of good judgment when it comes to taking up for them.

Huh? I've always been completely objective in matters concerning my children...;);):icon_mrgreen:

nice post Blue....and we welcome him back just as we did Joe Crawford....we need to remember he is a 18 old kid and we know nothing of what goes thru his mind..and as a mom of a 18 year old away at school I can understand where his mother is coming from too..every parent wants the best for their children...
whatever his choice is..we wish him the best and move on
