Ok, we've been able to watch the guys play a couple games. I may be way off with this and I don't want to upset any Bradley/Crawford supporters out there. But what would you all think of this line up?

Patterson
Stewart
Legion (If he stays)
Meeks (Once he is healthy)
Jasper (Once he is healthy)

Am I way off thinking this would be best starting line up we could put on the floor.

I think Crawford is still better than Legion at this point but other than that I think your line up would probably be the best we could put on the floor right now. Bradley is a great but he turns it over too much to be a PG IMO.

I think Crawford is heads and shoulders better than Legion. Hard to take Bradley out, but it is even harder to keep Meeks out, so I am not sure what to do there. I guess it just depends on how Jasper comes back from injury. I would much rather have him in there if he can be effective.

Patterson
Crawford
Meeks
Jasper
Bradley

You would be playing 4 guards but it would be pretty decent sized guards with Crawford being 6'4, Meeks 6'4", Jasper 6'6". We really just don't have a lot of options at forward/center.
I imagine it will be:
Bradley
Meeks
Crawford
Stevenson or Coury
Patterson
I think it will take a while for Jasper to get back into game shape and to fully learn the system since he has missed so much time.

That would be a very athletic lineup, but I doubt Crawford would be out.

I gotta tell I just don't care much for Crawfords style of play. I think he likes his one on one type game way too much. I have no problems with guys that like to drive to the basket, that's what we need. We also need that person who drives to the basket but is aware of where his teammates are. Seems like everytime Crawford drives he lowers his head and ends up amongst the "trees" under the basket when if he was aware of his teammates position he could kick it back out for an open shot.

Just my two cents......

Regardless of his style of play, he's leading the team in scoring at over 18 points per game, there is no way that a senior, leading scorer, averaging almost 20 per game will not start. It just doesn't make any sense.

I think this lineup has the most upside in terms of being good at the end of the season and I like it. Could be very formidable by season's end and primed for a run throught the SEC and/or NCAA tourneys.

Stewart and Legion have to get a WHOLE lot better on D to play them together for extended periods. They both get lost a lot on D. They are athletic and have potential but both are very green.

I agree, but the potential is what I am focusing on. If this season is going to be a rocky one anyway, why not throw the youngsters to the wolves and get them some valuable experience. You never know, they might just put it all together the last month to two weeks of the season and be someone to watch out for in the postseason.

He has to score because when he gets underneath the only thing he can see is the basket. He can't see his teammates and he sure don't know where they are because he was looking at the floor the whole time he was driving for the basket.

If we'd've been having this conversation this time last season, I'd be agreeing with you. But he's playing different this year. Seriously, watch him a bit closer this weekend, and try not to let his reputation (rightly earned, mind you) cloud your vision. He's playing more under control, and is, in fact, kicking out to open shooters MUCH more than he ever has.

Any starting line-up right now has to include Crawford, Bradley, and Patterson. They are far-and-away our best players, and to not start them would be silly.

It gets murky, however, when Jasper and Meeks return. I like RCS's idea of starting the four guards along with Patterson. Let Jasper guard the 4 on defense and run the point on offense, and you've got the makings of a decent team. (The best, anyway, that we'll be able to put on the floor this year...)

Are you serious?? Have you watched ANY of the games this year? Maybe last year that happened but not this year. Also, how can anyone complain about a guy scoring almost 20 a game?? It seems like you are looking for things to nit pick about.

Starting lineup? Go with a more traditional lineup:
Bradley PG(1)
Crawford SG (2)
Stevenson or Stewart at C (5)
Stevenson or Stewart or Harris at SF(3)
Patterson PF(4)

Gives size with three 6"9' guys up front, and Crawford and Bradley at their more natural position.

Crawford could be a real good player if he had a mid-range jump shot. It is a three pointer or a sometimes blind drive to the basket. I bet I could count his ten to fifteen footers on 1 hand he has shoot sense he has been at UK. It would be one more thing the defense would have to worry about.

I would not do this at this point of the season or we may not make the post season. We are probably going to loose a bunch of games as it is if jasper or meeks don't make it back.

Why should Joe be on the bench . He is the leading scorer on a team with a weak offense. Tell me how Legion and Jasper make up the 18 plus points we lose with him not playing. The kid is playing well this year. BETTER than anyone else(with possible exception of Patterson). He HAS to be on the floor for this team to do ANYTHING in SEC play.

When Jasper comes back:

Jasper
Bradley
Crawford
Coury
Patterson

When Meeks is back:
Jasper
Bradley
Crawford
Coury
Patterson

Ive said all along Meeks is best coming off of the bench this year. Him Legion and Stevenson coming in will keep the energy and run the other team off the court. I dont think we can afford to have all of our best players on the court getting wore out at the same time. We need to be able to substitute for any of our players and bring in a mismatch against the other team. Meeks and Legion coming in off the bench will do just that. If the other team has their starters still in, they blow past them with fresh legs and they will be a better backup backcourt than any other any the nation. This will allow us to make our leads bigger and keep them or chop away at the other teams lead

What kind of question is that? Have I watched any games this year? Uh, yes! I haven't missed a game yet. I wouldn't make such comments if I had not seen the games. Just because I don't care much for Crawford's style of play doesn't mean I don't watch the games, it just mean I don't like his style of play. Forgive me.....
