It would be great to get both of them if they can play DE. We are well-stocked at RB, will have one good one in each class next season without signing one this year. Last year's class was light on DL and this year's class is, too, so far. It's going to be a real problem if we don't get a bunch of them this year.
Getting four or five a year doesn't seem so light to me.

three of this year's signees were out with injuries. will all of them be able to play next year? also a few of the older players were out with injury for the year, and some missed a few games with injury. Will they all be back, or will some of them get tired of rehabing, and hang up their pads?

Of the four DT who get on the field when everybody's healthy, 2 are seniors next year and another is a junior. Lumpkin has 3 more years, but McCord is the only other DT who has even played except in case of dire emergency. Of the 2 DE who actually made any plays this year, one graduated and one is a junior next year who may be good enough to entertain thoughts of going to the NFL early. Oninku and Paris are the only others who have ever been on the field except in case of dire emergency. Idumwonyi is an OL in HS. Rare for a HS OL to play DL in college. More often it's the other way around. If Stafford is eligible and actually shows up, that will help, but we need some more studs. DL is an area where UK has traditionally been way below the rest of the SEC--even below the other bottom dwellers. A big reason why UK has had two winning seasons in a row is that for the past two years, our DL has not been way below the rest of the SEC. For UK to keep winning, its DL has to stay at the level it has been the past two years. But the studs we have are getting along in eligibility, and I don't see many replacements of the same quality on the roster.
Since I hijacked the thread on Chris Jordan I thought I'd move the D-line discussion to this thread.

Now if we can only get the O-Line on this level, we'll be equal with the big dogs.
To echo catdaddy's comment. When you put it like that........
It is a good list of existing and potential defensive linemen. If Bohanan and Arnold commit we are pretty set.
We only have limited schollies this year and need to spread them out in the best way possible to keep from having future class gaps as per our oline the past few years.
I can not wait till spring when we can start to see what some of the injured and redshirt dline can do. Especially Oninku and Minton.
Actually I can wait, we have some more football to play!!! :widcat:

A post on Scout says Stafford quit the prep school with bad grades. I'm not saying it's true, but it's been said.

One of the main differences and improvements from the past, is the number of BIG people on our team. We are not undersized any more, and we hold our own. Soon, we'll be at an advantage and actually attack some offenses.

Yes, gerntz, RV was right about Mr. Bohannon, and I'm SO GLAD that he was right!
