LEXINGTON, Ky. - After spending about a week in the Bluegrass state, University of Kentucky recruit Deon Thompson returned home to Torrance, Calif., on Saturday.
Thompson, a 6-8 center who will be a senior at Torrance High School, spent Sunday through Tuesday on an unofficial visit to UK, then headed straight to Louisville.
But not to worry Wildcat fans, Thompson went to visit family and not U of L.
His top four college choices remain UK, Gonzaga, UConn and the University of North Carolina.
Thompson said UK head coach Tubby Smith offered him a scholarship at the end of July, but he plans on making a decision after taking his official visits. (The schools pay for official visits, which are limited to five; the player pays for unofficial visits.)
