Can you imagine what it must be like for Billy G to...
1. Have your best players in street clothes, knowing that if and when they return it will be too late and they won't be dancing in March.
2. That you have to play people like Porter and Coury because that is the best you have.
3. You keep hoping that your seniors will actually start leading your team and stop acting like junior high players.
4. That 2 million UK fans piss and moan win you lose and 1 million piss and moan when you win.
5. That you hope Patterson doesn't get so frustrated that he leaves after a year or two.
I give him credit for even wanting to step on the court with the current situation, let alone an entire season or three of this.

I understand the post but there are many coaches out there that would jump for this opportunity. He is going to do just fine but I have no pity on him as he knew what he was stepping into. He is the right man for the job. If he can't handle this situation now, then I would rather know now then 4 years from now.

Personally I think 4 years from now we will have our 8th banner hanging in RUPP.

I think we overestimate the insanity of our fanbase. If you look at any message board, there are critical fans, that is the nature of college sports. Our expectations are no different from that of Ohio State football, Alabama football, Florida, UNC and Duke and Kansas and UCLA and Indiana basketball, I could go on for days. I don't feel sorry for BCG at all. Would you want to be somewhere where the fans didn't care?

I think Billy G will win a title with UK also. I think 4 or 5 years is a realistic goal for this to happen.

...Coach knew what he was in for. I really feel for him and would'nt want to have his job. I agree with the earlier post in that we should beat GW or UAB anyway even on a neutral floor. All we had to do was contain Vaden and we win easily. I have watched UofF play this year too. We are having a good start as compared to those guys. I was pleased to finally see some of our shots falling. If we could only be consistent.

he WANTS a job where the expectations are so high as to win every game....i heard him say it...he welcomes the challenge and the adversity....i think pitino was the same when he took on the job and look what he did....then was a bit different than now, but the point remains - REBUILD!!!!! in a rebuild you have to be able to envision what WILL BE, not just what is....i think coach G can do that and is doing that...not all fans can....
GO CATS, BEAT HOUSTON!!!!!!

I appreciate this about him. As bad as some fans are on him, I think he is on himself twice as much. He WANTS us to expect the best. If he messes up, he wants us to say so. If a player messes up, then say so (as long as its within to context of being a critic and not "bashing").
