....and I've thought long and hard about this.....but for the first time in my 40+ years of fervently supporting University of Kentucky athletics I'm actually looking forward more to the next UK football game than I am the next UK basketball game(s).

I'm pretty sure I've never made that statement before, and if you told me as little as 2 months ago that I'd be saying this, I would have loudly argued otherwise.

Don't misconstrue this as me giving up on the basketball team, but it's sure been a crazy year so far......

I understand where you are coming from. I think had we beaten UAB and then came back and beat Houston then you might feel differently but right now we both know that the football team has better chance of beating FSU than the basketball team does in beating another good basketball team.

I'll continue to say this, the program Gillispie inherited needs to be rebuilt. It won't take him long. If we assume that Meeks and Jasper don't return this season then there will be at least 5 new faces on next years team and they will be a major upgrade: Meeks, Jasper, Miller, Liggins, and an unknown recruit who I would bet a weeks salary is a big man.

what about Patrick? I think he has been our best player in almost every game. I hope that BCG gets rid of a lot of kids that are pretty much just taking up space. We might miss Bradley and Crawford at the beginning of next year but i think that once he has a class or two of the people he wants here we will have guys posting the numbers on a more consistent basis.

Unlike Pitino, Billy G won't fire players, but he'll be honest with them and if doe snot feel someone can help them, he'll tell them the truth and then the kid can decide if he wants to stay or not.
