What do you think?
Until this team and Billy G show me they are willing to make changes and adjustments during the game I just don't think they are capable of winning against almost anyone. Also, if Coury starts and Porter starts and plays 39 minuted again I think we are in for another loss.
Until I am proved wrong, gotta go...

As always I hope I'm wrong but I can't see the Cats winning this game. Especially on the road.
Houston 79
UK 63
Game is on ESPN at 9 pm eastern time. Dave O'Brian and Hubert Davis are doing the game.

Houston is 9-1 with some impressive-looking lopsided victories, and their only loss was a 1-point setback to Virginia Commonwealth, the team that beat Duke in the first round of the Tournament last year. This will be their biggest game of the season so far, and I'm sure they're looking at this as a statement game. But still, Houston hasn't played much of anyone yet, and they also struggled to beat an absolutely dreadful Texas Southern team a few weeks ago.
Despite losing, the Cats played pretty well against UAB last weekend, and with the news that Meeks and Jasper may be back soon and the Alex Legion distraction officially over, I think this team is finally starting to get some good mojo going.
I see the Cats pulling out a close one to begin a 4-game winning streak heading into Louisville and SEC play.

Its time for many of us to start on the positive vibes.
We were givem some glimmers of HOPE with Jasper getting a negative MRI on his knee, and the chance we may see Jodie on the floor at some point tonight.
My Predicition: :widcat:76 - 68:mad:
Starting 5- Bradley, Porter, Harris, Stevenson, Patterson
Bradley will have another solid game similar to Sat.
Meeks will get some sporadic time, totaling about 15mins, will be more of an emotional boost for the team.
Porter will keep shooting the ball more, play "fantastic" defense and commit some ridiculous turnovers, all in all another decent game for him.
Crawford will have another "OK" game with 19pts, 5rebs, 2as.
Patterson will keep on keeping on with a double - double.
Stewarts narcolepsy will get in his way of seeing more than 10mins tonight.
Razor Ramon will get some boards, play D and continue to be the man the myth.
Coury will start fast and furious like last game and then slowly get lost in the tight game.
Stevenson I think will have a nice game coming close to a double double.

Hope I am wrong but my prediction is Houston 85 Kentucky 68. We have some real problems and for the life of me I cannot understand a starting lineup that includes Coury and Harris. I appreciate their efforts but they just cannot get the job done.

We will spend another game wondering what the heck did the former coaching staff see when they recruited most of these players. I honestly don't they watched them in play and just signed them out of desperation.

If we can't compete with this team....I don't know :shrug1:

With all due respect, I have concerns like anyone else but I REFUSE to get caught up in gloom and doom, and there's NO WAY I'm automatically assuming the University of Kentucky is going to lose a game until I see it on the scoreboard.
Kentucky 82
Houston 67
(Oh, and before anyone says anything. I'm not accusing anyone of being negative, I'm just saying I'm not getting into that side of things.)

I guess we've got what? - 3 more years for you to blame every loss on Tubby?
Geez - grow up and move on.

If you call telling the truth not moving on then I'll keep not moving on. Our former coach left us in horrible shape while cashing millions in checks from Kentucky and then running out the door as quick as can be. Billy G. will have the roster remade within 1-2 years and this will all be a bad nightmare for us. Until then we will suffer from our horrible lack of talent. Right now alot of Mid-Majors have more talent than us and that's the hard, cold truth we must all admit.

My predictions:
There will be a game tonight.
At least 5 players will see playing time.
We won't score a basket until after 9 p.m eastern time.
Both teams will combine to score several points.
One team will score more than the other.
If that one team is not Kentucky we will continue to hear more b%$#!ing about how horrible Tubby and his players are. (Which is really the most ironclad of all my guarantees)

Yeah, I see a lot of mid majors with guys like Jasper, Meeks, Patterson, Bradley, Crawford, Stevenson, and Stewart. I also see a lot of midmajors with guys who would be here had they not left early for the NBA like Morris and Rondo. Those kind of mid major teams are all over the place.
I say we start to see some light tonight and win 70-62.

Be careful RP, I've learned that pointing out cold, hard facts and/or infusions of reality tends to upset this apple cart more times than not. ;) There are a great number of people who can't comprehend that you can still be a devoted fan and at the same time say "this team looks pretty crappy right now".
I have to agree with the gentleman who said (and I'm paraphrasing) "until they actually beat somebody...and prove me wrong", I have a hard time picking them in this game.
IMHO this season is eerily familiar to Pitino's first year where everybody and their Granny were gunning for UK because they knew there wouldn't be many chances to catch them this weak. Right now we are this weak, and we're going to get everybody's best shot, more so than usual.

Billy G goes "home" to texas and picks up a much needed boost as the Cats win:
KY 75
Houston 74
Lon25
12-18-2007, 12:31 PM
Kentucky 82
Houston 69
I still believe that we should be better than any Conference USA team not named Memphis. The players on their rosters resemble more like the group of Harris, Courey, Porter than the players like Crawford, Bradley and Patterson. I hope in a few games with teh addition of Meeks and hopefully Jasper we will see what Gillespie is trying to do. Right now the team looks much worse than the talent we are putting out there.

im knock going to not this team down yet its to early on in the season i look for the Cats to go to houston and beat them by bout 15-20 pts Big Game for Bradley Meeks and Crawford and Patterson. Its just Dec 18th we still got Sec play... Billy G done said these our HIS PLAYERS he said that even though tubby got them. You look i see Coury, Harris who was said to be the BEST ALL AROUND PLAYER IN SUMMER if im not mistake that what everyone was saying coming out of Practice Porter and Carter at kentucky and a bunch or walk on all four of thoses shouldnt be playing for UK bring out a lineup like this tonite Bradley Meeks, Crawford. Patterson and Stewart unless he been sleeping in practice.

without meeks uk:60 houston:68
Nope, but it (seemed) implied, apologies if it was not.
I'm not seeing that. I'm just seeing one persons opinion based on what he has seen so far.
And unfortunately, I have to agree. Until this team shows it can win a tough game, it's hard to predict them to win that game. I hope more than anyone that they can get this stuff together, but they have to go out and show it on the floor first.
A road game against a tough opponent is either a good thing or bad thing considering how you look at it. On the good side, a road game can really bring this team together. The bad, we can continue to struggle against tough opponents.
Hoping for a big-time win tonight, but they have to start doing something different in order for me to have confidence in them. Either way, I'll be rooting for them nonstop.

WHAT?!?!?! Not sure where you got that. This post has ZERO to do with Tubby, if you haven't heard BILLY GILLISPIE is our coach now! All that it has to do with is that we (Billy G, Cyp, the players, even friggin Kneightly if you like) have not made adjustments during games to win. There should be no excuse for the debacle (sp?) that happened during the UAB game.

no harm....I am all for whoever our coach is. When it was Tubby I supported him (most of the time:icon_lol:). Now that it's Billy G, I support him 100%

I'm not sure on how well Houston plays..
But I feel that we must find a way to get the ball to Patterson when he is open
It is a lost art to feed the post successfully, in the game against UAB Patterson was open a lot but our guards were unable to get the ball to the post.
He is our best scorer and we must get him involved.

No problem, I was just confused by what you meant.
Houston is a 3 point favorite, and I don't know anything about their team. I'll just guess a similar range, 70-67, but UK wins.
