What I am really tired of is hearing about practice, and never seeing any actions in a game that would indicate any of them had ever practiced togather.

In a word NO!!!! I've got a great idea; Lets let the fans do a internet poll everyday of the game and we will start anybody they think should be playing. Sheesh, give me a break.
