Did anyone see the comment BCG made regarding Coury? It went something like this.

"When you have a player like coury inside and he never gets to the foul line something is wrong."

I appologize this is not word for word. If someone can quote his comments please do. I skimmed over it very quickly in the owensboro paper. I was very puzzled by this comment. I would understand if he was referring to Patterson. Sometimes I am baffled by his comments. Am I the only one?

I took it as ; If you play inside you should bang and get fouled more. Which is true.

Not confusing. If you are a big body inside and you are banging with other big guys, you should be fouled from time to time. If you aren't getting to the foul line, you aren't banging hard enough.

No sir, u can add me to your list. I am tryin to love him, want so much to like him, but some of his actions and some of his responses are strange to say the least.

And for a guy who came here initially with all thi aw-shucks demeanor, he has a chilly relationship with the media, (and maybe the players as well), imho.

I don't have the time or desire to look up articles and copy and paste em, but just off my head, here' a small list of things i've heard him say or do, that i find a wee bit strange....

Michael Porter's "Fantastic" job of defending Vaden.

"If you know what to look for, you'd see we're getting better"

"No reason".....As to why Stewart didn't play at all the last game.

"So I'm real excited about the direction we're headed." quote from LHL today

His chilly "He played OK, yeah Ok" when asked (twice) how he felt Joe Crawford did after the last game. 16 pts, 4 reb, 3 assists, 1 bl, 1 steal.

Joe Crawford not starting / Ramon Harris is.

These are just my 2 pennies, i have no dog in this fight; i believe he will be a great recruiter, and from what i have seen thus far coaching-wise, he damn sure better be.

OK, I understand that. That was not my point. My point was, Coury is not an offensive threat and will never be. Coury is not the guy that should be getting to the foul line. He should be making these comments about Patterson. I believe patterson only got to the line once against UAB.

If he isnt happy with how Coury is playing, why not give Stewart, Williams, or Carter a chance?

He would if those guys work hard enough in practice....

My only problem with big men getting to the foul line is we need to get the ball to the big men first. We haven't done that with any consistancy.

I am getting a little tired of that line. We are losing games on the court, not in practice. I am not downplaying the importance of practice but if they are not producing in the game situations what difference does it make if they are a ball of fire in practice?

Lets all turn in to UofL fans and start questioning our coach after 1/4 of a season. We have no idea what goes on in practice or in the classroom every day. Let BG make the decisions as to who plays when and why. We as fans should support the decisions he makes and root on the players that are playing HARD - regardless of their talent level.

We have been playing without a full compliment of players all year. I agree with BG that this team is improving. There were times in the UAB game that they actually looked pretty good and like they were beginning to "get it"

I also agree that Porter played Vaden ok at times during the UAB game. I am not sure who else you could put on him. No way Crawford runs around the screens hard, you don't want Bradley to get in foul trouble - then who? Put yourself in BG shoes....who is your choice?

Might as well accept this WE ARE GOING TO BE A MEDIOCRE BASKETBALL TEAM THIS YEAR. We probably will not make the tournament. Once you accept this you will enjoy the small strides this team is making.
