Any Word on D.J. Stafford?

4 star recruit DL 2007. Academically ineligible. I believe he entered a prep school with the intentions of getting into UK this year. Any word?

Maybe the same thing that happened with Antwoine Lias, Dustin Wynn, Terrell Starks, C. J. Lofton and plenty of other very gifted athletes in the past, I suppose.

All were regarded as superstar recruits destined for great college careers and possibly the NFL afterward, but never got to play.

There are a lot of lessons out there for some talented young men. I wish Lonnell DeWalt and others had been more familiar with their stories.

Oninku and Minton should give some more play at the DE spots next year, Jarmon will be all-SEC (or should be) and if Paris can but 10lbs of muscle on, we'll be very deep at the DE spot - of course having Stafford would be very good but won't kill us if can't qualify.

Also, don't be suprised if Antwane Glenn doesn't come in and give us some good play next year at DE, ans Shane McCord has a great future at DT or DE. Don't forget Charles Mustafaa

Sorry to ramble, but this staff is very intelligent, they understand you have to build your defensive line to have any shot of competing big in the SEC. Don't get me started about our tackles next year - should be the best and deepest defensive line we've ever had!!

Just for kicks, I went to Harmony's web site and checked out the roster. Lamarckus Boswell was also on the squad. Wonder if there's any chance he'll make it here? And why Cosby didn't follow up with Boswell as he did with Stafford?

Oh, I forgot for a moment, we're talking about the LHL here. Chances are Cosby's never heard of Boswell. :icon_rolleyes:

"Per Rob Gidel on WVLK 590 last night Stafford is still in school at Harmony, did pass his classes last semester and is on schedule to make it to campus if he makes his grades this semester. He was very upbeat about Stafford becoming a Cat. He did say that Boswell dropped out of school and did not believe that we would see him here."

Well, Crosby said he interviewed the football coach. A writer on Scout said he interviewed the Harmony coach a couple days ago, and that is where the information that Stafford left school and did not return is coming from. Chip wouldn't not interview the coach and say he did, or would he?

A recent premium article on KSR/Scout seems to agree with you. In spite of what Gidel reported earlier and what the coach told Cosby.
