One thing I don't see much talked about on here, or possibly I'm missing it because I don't read every post, is experience or lack thereof. Let's take a look at the current roster. We return a roster that basically returns 4 players (Bradley, Crawford, Meeks, & Jasper) that logged significant minutes last season, 2 of which have been snakebit with injuries this season and have played very little. A absolute stud in Patterson, a couple of bit players from last season based on playing time( Stevenson, Harris & Porter), throw in Stewart, Carter, & Williams and our roster is very inexperienced. Not only do these kids need to gain experience, they also have to adjust to playing significant minutes at the division 1 level of college basketball.
Am I excusing some of the losses we have suffered this season, no. But as a HS coach, I can see why we are experiencing so much trouble. Very little experience on a very young roster. Am I baffled by some coaching moves BG has made yes, but I trust he will figure it out. Adjustments must be made by both the players and the coaches. We will get better, will it happen this season, I don't know. What I do know is that griping about it won't make it better, it'll just run up your blodd pressure.
