Since I rarely post on the basketball forums, I'd be curious to know from those that do as to how often posts are made there wondering if a hoops recruit could help the football team. Thanks.

I know that it has been said a many a time that Michael Porter should play football too. My thoughts is that he should quit b-ball and come on over to play football.

He didn't get off the bench in yesterday's shallacking. It is obvious that he has no future in basketball after college so why not ask Coach if he can give it a try?:shrug1:

To play fb, he will have to be put on a football scholarship.
Not sure how this would work as we were at the max of incoming scholarships the year he entered school. Normally for a fb walk-on, they have to be "in the program" for two years before they can given a fb scholarship without it counting against the incoming number. Perhaps this would apply to Porter, don't know. It's also possible he could be considered a counter for this (2008) year.
It might take Sandy Bell to figure this out.

The way I understand it, a player on a ride other than football can't participate on the football team without being awarded a football ride for the first two years of school. MP is a Soph so he could walkon the football team next year and remain on basketball scholarship but I doubt either would happen.

I would have loved to see Braxton, Ashton Cobb, Wesley, and Dicky playing basketball sat against ul. That is 20 fouls, and ul would of had to use their water boys.
