From the Citizen-Times:
Kentucky assistant coach Randy Sanders, who expressed an interest in the WCU job, told the Louisville Courier-Journal he didn’t think he was a candidate.
“I haven’t talked to anybody at Western Carolina in awhile,” Sanders said. “I don’t think anything is going to happen.
“I don’t think it’s a good fit right now. Not unless a lot of things change in a hurry.”
Interestingly, the article sounds as if Randy was interested.

He was interested. He's pretty much said that all along. I know it's selfish of me, but this is great news in my opinion.

I don't blame him, all assistants work to be a head coach somewhere

We need to thank God that we have Randy Sanders. Every season that he is here is a blessing for us.

Agreed! I certainly don't blame him for exploring the opportunity - but hey - I'm glad he's staying at UK.

I'm glad he's returning, too. However, I guess I'm curious as to why WCU passed on him. Looks to me like his credentials were better. He has been an OC for a major program, and the guy they chose was the OL coach for a very disappointing Nebraska team.

Well, it's (bad decisions in the AD) the reason why the Cats have been a perennial SoCon doormat in pretty much all sports for years. Randy Sanders can do better than WCU.

For the past two seasons, Coach Sanders has deserved the most valuable position coach's trophy. We need to hang on to him as long as possible. If you look at what he did with Tee Martin, I think he can do the same thing with Curtis.
With a truly mobile qb who can throw the football, we could really put some pressure on good defenses.
