I read about the bowl very briefly, but I have never heard about it before. What is the criteria for being selected? Anyone know....

They sell it to the players by saying its a great place to showcase their talents to NFL scouts. Could be they get those guys who are really good, but not necessarily NFL locks and get them to come.

Unfortunately the Hula Bowl is where Artose Pinner got his leg broken and subsequently never fully recovered.

I'll not to be surprised if Steve Johnson goes higher in the NFL draft than any other UK players.

I'll be watching. Go long Stevie.

RaviMoss - You're right on the money according to the Detroit Lions Biography of Pinner. He broke his leg in the 2003 Senior Bowl.

Thanks, ChattyKat. I had known Stevie had been selected to play in the game, but I had not known the date of the game.

Also, CONGRATULATIONS and GOOD LUCK in the game, Stevie! :)

DITTO to those two statements, bleedbluelady!

Also, does anyone yet know the television info--the station and time for Saturday's Hula Bowl? Thanks in advance. GO CATS! GO STEVIE!

It looks like the Hula Bowl will be broadcast on the Versus Network from 6:00 until 9:30 on saturday.

I know that I will be watching.

This senior class is the perfect example of what happens when talent and achievement meet humility and integrity. It has been an absolute pleasur to watch the last two seasons.

Versus network?

Yes, the Versus Network.

It is a rather new channel. It carries Pac 10 and Mountain West Games during the football season. Also Some NHL games, rather frequently. It is channel 151 in Richmond with the Dish Network Top 250 Channels package.

It took the place of the OLN channel that used to carry the Tour de France and other shows like that.

I SO agree about our senior class. Well-said, mpdoyle.

Also, could someone possibly tell me what channel this network would be on Direct TV? I look forward to watching Stevie and wish him luck in the game. :)

anybody know how he has done today? I forgot the game was on since I was so sky high after the Vandy win. I will hopefully see some big catches in the second half.

I read somewhere that he chose not to play in the Hula Bowl and has went to California to focous on training for the upcoming combine.

I watched the game and saw no sign of Stevie Johnson. However, there was a guard wearing a UK helmet. Did Jason Leger play?

It was a University of Buffalo Helmet

Thanks. I didn't think it was Leger and I guess I never got a really good look at it. UB must be ripping us off, because it looked a lot like a UK helmet to me.

I watched part of the game just to see if Johnson would get a catch. I definitely saw a UK helmet on offense for the East. I don't know who it was, but I made sure to look a second time to verifty that it was UK on the blue helmet.

I read in Chip Cosby's article in today's LHL that Steve and center Eric Scott will be playing in the Texas Versus The Nation Game in February in El Paso.
