This is just proof we played in the toughest divisions in the toughest conferences with one of the hardest schedules. The Cats are very deserving of the ranking.

I think MSU gives us a run.

I prefer the Sagarin rankings in which the Cats are ranked #18 in the final rankings, as shared by RV. In that one we are helped by playing in the toughest schedule in the nation, besides the toughest division in the nation.

When I look at our team and how it performed this season and how some of the other ranked teams performed, I have NO DOUBT that we are better than many of those teams ranked in the top 25. Too, what a shame that we lost to UT (ranked #12 in the coaches' poll with its four losses)! With a win there, the Cats are firmly inside the final polls.

Anyway, as I watched previously undefeated Hawaii be totally dominated by Georgia, which we played in Athens when they were playing their best football (and we ended up losing by eleven points, but had certainly had chances to do better), I thought again how difficult a schedule the Cats face, which makes it so hard to stay in that top 25. It also made me think how I would have loved for the Cats to play Hawaii.

In regard to MSU, that team IS deserving of respect. They did not perform as well during their bowl game, though. Also, they did NOT record a win over the national champions. :) MSU was obviously a better team than UK players and fans had been expecting them to be. Further, those SIX turnovers aganst MSU, along with the FOUR COSTLY turnovers against South Carolina, still make this fans sick. :icon_sad:

The Cats were a REALLY GOOD team this season, folks. How I would love to know how many losses UK would have recorded if it had been playing a lot of the more highly ranked teams' schedules! As someone noted, we recorded those five losses while playing not only in the toughest conference, but also the toughest division.

Personally, I think we showed that we could compete with ANY TEAM in the nation this season. We barely fell short a few times, and turnovers killed us in a couple of games. Yet, again, we were GOOD, REALLY GOOD (and better than that #28 AP ranking reveals). :) THANK YOU, Cats. :)
