This will be a big weekend for the University of Kentucky football program as eight recruits will be in town for the home basketball game with Vanderbilt on Saturday.

Expected to be in attendance are three players who have already committed to UK: Randall Cobb, an athlete from Alcoa, Tenn.; William Johnson, an athlete from Nashville's Pearl-Cohen High; and Trevino Woods, an offensive lineman from Athens, Ga.

Others on the list include wide receiver Marcus Rucker and linebacker Tenarious Wright, a pair of teammates from Memphis' Whitehaven High. Leesburg, Fla., linebacker Danny Trevathan, Cedar Grove, Ga., defensive end Gerald Rivers and Kingsport, Tenn., tight end Jamal Mosley also are expected in town.
The football signing period begins Feb. 6.

I believe we have about 4 more slots for recruits for the next class. So I'm thinking that Brooks&Co will definitely offer 1 or 2 more receivers of some sort--and perhaps a couple of defensive linemen/linebackers.

I'm mostly just hoping we don't lose any of our verbals that have become 'soft' after home state schools start showing interest--Cobb for example.

They had to love the crowd noise at Rupp. Combine that with the showing UK fans made in Nashville and the recruits have got to think UK fans are GREAT sports fans! Fan support probably plays some role to recruits, don't you think?
