Wonder if any of Brooks' assistants will get a peek from the EKU admin.
Randy Sanders maybe?

Also wonder if maybe Guy Mo' looks at this job instead of Boyle County. Its only a 30-40 minute drive from perryville, and would be at least six figures compared to a high school salary.

As an EKU alum, I would take him, and would take Sanders also.

Chuck Smith will likely be a candidate.

I live in Richmond. I hope we can get a good coach. One that can take EKU into a D-IAA championship. But I hope we can keep our coaches.

Considering the success UK's had the past two seasons, I wonder how many, if any, of the asst. coaches would be interested in dropping down to 1AA? I also wonder how the pay for the hc position at EKU compares to an asst.'s pay at UK? I guess coach Sanders might be interested since he was interested in the West. Car. hc position.

I can't remember what Hope was making, but I'm sure it was low six figures. I would guess somewhat more than what the asst's are making at U.K.
I think any of the asst coaches would be interested in being a head coach even at the 1AA level. Hey, Tressel came from youngstown state.

I hadn't thought of Chuck Smith, but that would be interesting.

According to an article in today's Richmond Register, Hope's base salary at EKU was $150k.

The last time I saw salary information on UK's staff was a couple of years ago. IIRC, the coordinators were over $200k and the other assistants were in the range of $120k - $180k.

I really hate to see Danny Hope leave, but like with Travis Ford, I can't blame him. Guy Morriss might be a good option, if he's interested, he's be likely to stay a while; wheras any young up and comer will probably leave for more money if the opportunity presents itself.

I agree...you may be on to something........EKU job would be perfect for Morriss

I would love to see Eastern get back to the winning program that it was under Coach Kidd, but it sounds as though there will not be much offered to entice a good coach to come.
Oh well, I'll still be rooting for them. It just doesn't seem that EKU's sports programs are pushing ahead like WKU's are.

If Morris goes to EKU and they come to Commonwealth to play, how will Morris be received?

I'd bet it would be a mixed reaction with the boos outweighing slightly the applause.
