His defense!! Usually when freshmen come into college they grab with their hands and don't play defense with their feet. They get fooled on screens and even head-fakes etc. Patterson doesn't do any of this stuff much, he can play a double-OT game, play very aggressive and not foul out. I remember Morris, as a Junior, constantly reaching and getting caught out of position.

This kid plays way more mature than most freshmen.

Pleas Pat, stay 3 years and give BCG a chance to get you some great talent.

This is why I came to Kentucky," Patterson said. "I knew we could win games like this -- Kentucky is supposed to win games like this."

Plays way beyond his years, with the exception of some of the UL game, and also cares about it as much as anybody. It hurts him to lose.

Has a lot of Chuck Hayes type character qualities that will only help this team.

That quote alone is why I love Patrick Patterson more than any UK player that has come along in a long long time. His passion, heart, desire and determination is amazing, let alone his pure basketball talent. It is sooo good to have him wearing the blue and white.

He's basically a taller, more athletic, and over-all more skilled version of Chuck Hayes. He's got Chuck Hayes's heart w/ Mashburn's skill. That is a nearly unstoppable combination.

This guy is unbeleivable...it is amazing how he a AJ Mayo played on the same team his senior year. Talk about opposites!

If we can get a big man to take some pressure off of him, we are going to see just how good he can be. He is pretty good now getting double and triple teamed. As Matt said earlier, he has some Hayes qualities about him. Imagine when we have a whole team full of guys with the drive of Patrick:thumbup:

I'll say it again - he has a tarzan-body, a 6'8 frame, good hands, decent jump shot (which will only get better now and in the pros), good IQ, great running ability up and down the court and alot of heart.

He reminds me so much of a young Karl Malone - and that is a compliment.

Very good comparison there. Their games are very very similar. Similar bodies, plays w/ power and finesse, great passer, high b-ball IQ, 15-18ft range on the jump-shot and very passionate.

I'll also add this: Could you imagine having to go against him at UF????? Or, think about how much he would have helped Dook. Dook would be tough with him this year.
