Finally,a win that all of us have been waiting for. But wasn't you ready to choke Bradley when he turned it over in the backcourt. Why didn't he call time out? Just shows how much basketball IQ that this senior class has. Overall Bradley had a decent game, but I can't wait until we have a true point guard.

What is wrong with you? Bradley almost single-handedly got us into a position to win & then hit the shot that put us ahead for good.
Some people just can't say anything positive.

Yea I was ready to choke him myself. I've been hard on he and Joe for a while but you gotta like the determination the guy has. He wants to take the game over. Being passive is not a trait of Ramel, but I understand where you're coming from about wanting a true PG.

I mean are you serious? He was getting fouled and didnt want to stop the clock. He had Jasper back there with him and was trying to get it to him. When someone plays the way he played he has the ability to make a few mistakes and not get criticized for them. Thats like saying "Man Kobe, I know you scored 81 and everything, but you shouldnt have let him get that offensive rebound. You suck. I cant wait til you arent in LA anymore"

Ramel had 20 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, 6 to's, 3 steals, and played ALL 50 minutes. 7-10 from the line and 6-15 from the field.
I'd say that is more than overall a good game. About the only thing you could gripe about is the to's, but after 50 minutes in a high-pressure game, well I can focus more on the positives given the situation. Ramel is a sg by heart. He's never been able to settle into his natural position here, and I think he's done well given the situation.
And most of all, I love the heart and tenacity he has. He's proud to wear the blue and white, and goes hard every time he laces 'em up.
Just enjoy today's win :icon_mrgreen:

I can see Ramel developing into and Acie Law type player if he gives this effort and determination every game. I wasnt aware he player all 50 minutes. When was the last time we had a player play the whole game?

So did Mr. Patterson.

AND they practiced at least some this morning :icon_mrgreen:
We'll get back folks if the injury bug leaves and we have some more luck on the recruiting trail

I thought he was fouled without question. We seem to keep taking the ball to the side. Great effort though, like him or not he's got alot of heart.

Thats very odd. I only got to see the second half and the OTs. I did notice they didnt come out. Its amazing they have that kind of conditioning and stamina to be able to play as hard as they did in the double OT

I can't believe the Ref's couldn't, or wouldn't call a foul on that play. They called several other fouls when they were on the other side of the court from a play, but not when they are standing right on top of it!?!

I'll give Ramel high marks for effort, but he and Stevenson nearly killed us with turnovers. They've GOT to calm down.
Maybe this win will give them some confidence, but this is the most skittish bunch I've ever seen.

I thought it was the sorriest one sided game calling for Vandy, in the second half. But, I am a biased Ky fan. It sure seemed to me that Vandy was hacking, holding, and getting the charge called when they stepped underneath a UK player.
As for Bradley turning the ball over in the back court, he was fouled and his team mates abandoned him. He split the double team and didn't have anyone to pass it to. Bradley was the "Man" in the second half.
Crawford played his butt off on D. Also, kudos to Mr. Stevenson, who came up big in this game.
I sure hope Jasper's knee isn't seriously injured. He deserves a break. I also hope Meeks will be able to play soon.

I was pretty upset with Bradley's play. Sure he scored 20 and lead the team in the second half, but that's simply because it was Bradley vs. Vandy. He was completely selfish from the 12 minute mark on. He would bring the ball up and shoot the first time he became semi-open. Sure he scored 20 points but when you shoot every shoot, you are going to score several points. He was out of control driving down the lane and lost the ball on several occassions. Patterson hit his second freethrow to hit the 20 point mark around 12:00 it was over for him. Not a single inlet pass to him. Sure he was double and triple teamed but he never saw a pass come in. In fact, Bradley only made 2 or 3 passes to any player on the floor. In the post game interview he said the offense was stagnant, or some similar version, and he felt he had to make things happen. I am sorry but he was not playing team ball and several people around me expressed the same opinions.

I agree, the officiating in the second half SUCKED, Vandy was getting everything. Bradley was hacked hard a few times in the end, they were climbing all over Pat-Pat, the Charging call on RB was horrible etc. and we were getting called for phantom fouls during the half. I thought he OT's were called better and the first halof was pretty good, but the second half was horrible.
Great win for the Cats.

I've been really hard on both seniors. Even today, I thot Ramel tried to do too much on his own, but I think both he and Joe do that because they CARE. It seems that its clicked with both of them that this is it, last semester, time to play. They're doing what seniors are supposed to do, putting the team on their shoulders and willing them to win. I'd like to see us play IU now, I think Joe would show lil brother and his teamates a few things.

Excellently said, matt colvin.
Too, as you said, Ramel is PROUD to wear that Kentucky uniform, and that means a lot to me. I particularly love his ENTHUSIASM. Also, we would not have come close to winning this game without Ramel's efforts, and Coach G obviously realizes that, as he played Ramel the entire game.
FINE game, Ramel! :icon_biggrin: GO CATS! GO RAMEL!

There is no reason to badmouth a player who played 50 minutes in a game. His contributions far outweighed anything negative he produced.

I think there is a time to be critical and more demanding.
This ain't one of them. These guys have had plenty of that. Its time to show love because they really deserve it.
Sometimes I feel fans think they are the ones that endure. Try being a player...

I don't know. I think I'm going to have to pretty much disagree with everything in this post.

Well, the fact that coach has been telling Crawford and Bradley to be more aggressive (the announcers even talked about this during the game), and the fact that Gillispie was happy with Bradley's play after the game...I guess Gillispie would tell him to turn it down a notch if he really thought Bradley was hurting the team.
