From what I can deciper, UK has made a decision to pursue Hopson. If this is true we're a good ways behind.

The thing about ChrisB60 is that he is lying and doesn't know anything about me or what I know.

I've never made up a single thing. I am a professional basketball scout who talks to college coaches daily. I happen to be a UK fan and pass on info that fellow UK fans may want...I do it for free. I have no reason to make anything up and I'm pretty sure ChrisB60 doesn't know a thing about Hopson's recruitment.

UK has NOT been going after Hopson very hard at all. As of yesterday, they have been and will continue.

Sure would be nice if people didn't talk about stuff they don't know anything about.

yeah it could be. All of his "rumors" or "sources" are always so vague so that whatever happens MM can say he had it first or he broke the story. I used to really like him, but his site has continually gone down hill in terms of credibility and respect, IMO.

We'll need point production after losing 2 of our 3 best scorers. Hopson can help fill that void. However, I don't think he's a priority in our recruiting compared to say, any big man at all. I think he'd be a great pick up, but I think we will also be OK without him. I have a feeling that he'll end up somewhere else, but I would be happy to be wrong.

We need talent, so we need everybody that can play. Does he meet our most pressing needs? No, but we lose 2 guards and get back two small forwards so I do think there is room for a SG, especially one as good as Hopson. We also are going to desperately need scorers. We need someone who has a scorers mentality and can generate offense. Hopson is all of those things. Plus there are not a ton of highly ranked kids that come out of KY so you have to get them when you can.

Matt Jones has reported that as of 6:00 pm today that Hopson said that he hasn't had contact with Kentucky in the last three weeks.

It's great to get the Kentucky kids......but it is more important to upgrade the talent level @ UK. Hopson is an extreme athlete. After seeing the turnaround in Crawford & Bradley (hopefully it continues) I think UK & Hopson would be a good fit. If he truly wanted too, I think Hopson could be a lock down defender and a very capable scorer. He has a nice shot, quickness & can jump. He is the total package. Pairing him with PP, Meeks, Miller & Jasper would begin the return to elite status for UK. Add Washington to that mix & the enjoyment of Kentucky basketball would return

MM is usually pretty straight with the info he has. This is just one of those IMHO posts:

Scotty Hopson will not, not, not end up at Kentucky.

If we're looking anywhere in the SEC, it'll be Tennessee. Outside shots are anywhere in the country but Kentucky and Mississippi State as an ace in the hole.

I think UK is just way too far behind in the recruiting tourney.

'course, I always thought Ricky Williams was the obvious pick over Edgerrin James and why in the world would anyone pick Peyton Manning over Ryan Leaf.

yeah i also heard that UK hasnt had any contact with Scotty for a few weeks so its a outside shot at getting him i still think the Top 3 to get him is Tennessee, Louisville, and Miss State. UT Has a guy at almost every game.. to watch him play
