Euro bigs can be tough because they struggle with elgibility due to so many of them starting on pro development teams at such a young age. If they are cashing checks they can't play in the US. I don't remember a single straight from Europe big at UK ever. Woo was in HS here so it was different. Aussies however seem to be turning out some pretty good big guys lately.

Overseas players are catching up to the United States, and you have a much bigger population base to recruit from. I think the day will come when it will be commonplace for US universities to have an assistant who specializes in recruiting overseas players. I know that sounds like a radical idea to some of you, but we've seen a lot of big changes in recruiting in the past 25 years.

That is occuring now or varations of it.... The innovative Coach Calapari was featured in an article that talked about him opening up clinics to overseas coaches and so forth, about his offense....

"Overseas players are catching up to the United States,"

Overseas players passed up the U.S. years ago. Note the results of the last couple Olympics. The overseas players have been mastering fundamentals while U.S. players have been showing off their street ball skills in AAU ball. Only problem with recruiting overseas is that those players routinely receive stuff at a young age that makes them ineligible for the NCAA.
