After reading Jody Demling's blog that Newman wouldn't even talk to Rich Brooks I don't want somebody like that on our team. Thats just too rude of behavior. There is no call for such lack of courtesy.

If he isn't interested in UK, he really has no reason to talk to Coach Brooks.

Well I think you could use some understanding of the term courtesy and snub. I was raised in a catholic education system and I can tell you one thing, he is going to a school that values such things as courtesy.

I didn't read the blog, so I don't know the whole story, but if he just flatly refused to say anything to coach Brooks, I agree that's rude. If he's not interested in UK, he could at least have said so.

I think you can safely say he's not interested in UK.

I'm sorry, I didn't realize how much smarter you are than everyone because you went to a private school. I will watch my mouth next time.

Its not about intelligence, it is about coutesy and how to conduct oneself. My experience with teachers in parocial institution where you can be expelled for your behavior is what I was referring to. I apologize for my misleading you about your intelligence.

I'm with you, Levi. I wasn't raised Catholic but I certainly was taught some things about courtesy, rudeness, respect, etc.

Yeah, I got a little worked up there. I should be the one apologizing. I was misled by your comment when I really shouldn't have been. :icon_redface:

I understand it is Rich Brooks but the thing is that he might have made it clear that he was not interested over the phone and/or emails. Yet, coaches will still persist and even show up at your school. I've drawn the line in the past myself by telling schools to stop calling and refused to meet with those who still showed up. It happens and it is a drain on the kids and you feel like they are trying to wear you down sometimes.

I would think Rich Brooks and his staff would respect a kid's wishes but who knows what was said or done prior to the visit.

was Brooks there to see newman, or to talk with the new head coach at PRP? hope newman didn't burn any bridges. we've seen a few who "KNEW" they made the right choice, only to see the light a year or two later.
