We were recently introduced to Havana Rumba behind the old Sears building in St Matthews. Love it! Best Mojito I have ever had. Food is authentic and reasonably priced. Had a veggie sandwich w. french fried sweet potatoes. Veggies with cheese grill pressed between Cuban bread. My hubby had a beef "stir fry" type dish with black beans, rice and plantains. Delish! They also have a tiered combo appetizer that we have split. Our bill w/o the bar :icon_mrgreen: was $18

We saw that place on our way to Cafe Lou Lou (http://www.cafeloulou.com/) for dinner with some friends. I told `em we'd have to give that place a try, as I love Cuban food.
Thanks for the report!

Here is one of Cathy's favorites, Ash Street Station. Sunday buffett from 1-7, $6.95 all you can eat. It's a hole in the wall in Germantown, but the food has always been great.

Cathy, Havana Rumba is one of our favorites and is a great time. My cousin who knows the owner's introduced us to it and we love it. She tells me that the they have opened or are going to open another latin resturant somewhere around holiday manor.

Guilty
DenCat introduced us to it. But don't take my word for it. Ask Wildcatrick and Jdb1074.

Havana Rumba is great. I love the place. My wife does too.

The food is great and it's not pricey.

It's a great place for dinner, but lunch there on a Saturday is a nice change of pace too.

And I have to say, the few other Cuban places that have opened in Louisville quickly lost me because of flat awful service. Havana Rumba does not have that problem.
