There were several things really, but this is what I think.

1. Breaking the UT press. Very good job of not getting bogged down.

2. Not allowing UT to run. They seemed to be out of their element when having to operate out of a half court set.

3. Playing tough D on Lofton in the second half. Yes, he scored 22 points, but Ramel was in his jersey in the second half.

4. Getting the ball to Patterson. Even if he doesn't score, he is a heck of a passer.

5. Jasper hitting some outside shots. This forces the defense to guard him and it doesn't become 4on5.

I am so happy that we won this game. I think it could be a turning point for the team. We still have an uphill battle, but the grade isn't as steep.

Another key that I just saw in the box score...UK Bench 25 UT Bench 20. Nobody would have bought that outcome before the tip.

Great point! That was supposed to be our undoing...

These are precisely the reasons why I don't think UT is final four material.

I think Bradley and Crawford being very unselfish for once was a big key. BUt probably the x-factor IMO was Perry Stevenson. Noone - including Tenn. expected him to have a game like that. A lot of his scoring oopurtunities were in fact created off of Patterson's insane interior passing!!!

1. The dual post productivity. The play between Stevenson and 2 PAT was HUGE.
2. The job Bradley did on Lofton. The job Bradley did at the line. The job Bradley did period.
3. The over all smarter play.
4. Rebounding.

The player that could really help Kentucky is Perry Stevenson, he was the key against UT and if he continues to play like that then Kentucky could really compete and make a run for the tournament

agreed - 100%. I think another big key was Coury sseing the floor for about 3 minutes instead of 20-30

Exactly, Stevenson is way more productive than Coury and hopefully other players follow Perry and can contribute like I think Ramon Harris can and when he tried to slam that dunk I was excited and glad for him even though he missed it, I just liked the agressiveness

Den, I have to add Coaching to your list.

The way BCG substituted when we got in foul trouble, the final inbounds play that left UT with their jocks on the court, coach's calm and constant working of the refs, and much, much more.

DenCat's list was a fine one, UedK, but I agree that coaching needs to be added to the list, particularly for the things you mentioned. His mind was especially sharp Tuesday evening. I was impressed. :)

Too, how UK shot clutch free throws was huge, along with their only having five turnovers in the second half. Also, being aggressive and scoring on their press caused UT to let up on it, essentially pressuring only the inbounds play.

Now may the Cats BEAT THOSE GAMECOCKS! :)
