After the Florida game, I posted a thread about how heartbroken I was for our guys. Well, tonight, I don't think I have ever been happier for a team. Like I've said before, I've grown to love this team more and more each game. I extremely appreciate the effort the give every single night. Lesser men would have packed it in for the season under such intense criticism on them and the coaches. But no, they gave it all every. single. minute. that they were on the floor. And tonight, IT ALL PAID OFF! Tennessee is a legitimate National Championship contender and with a combination of a great game planning by Coach Clyde and perfect execution by our guys, we pulled off the HUGE upset. The best part of the game were the final seconds, looking at the excitement of our guys, the high-fiving, and the smile of Coach Clyde's face. This night was AWESOME! I am so proud of our team tonight. They have faced adversity all season. They have been called "the worst UK team ever", Coach Clyde has unjustly had his job called for, and many other unneccesary criticisms have been made. But tonight, our guys grabbed a big handful of crow and shoved it down the throat of all their criticizers! Congratulations, men! Enjoy it!
(This also made me realize that our early season struggles were 100% due to injuries and adjusting to a new system. We are really playing some good basketball now that we're healthy and playing "BillyBall".)
