According to catszone.net, Willie bought what Fat Phil was selling and gave a solid verbal to UT.

I am clueless as to why.

"It wasn't hard to switch my commitment..."

This does suck but Bohannon seemed to be using his commitment to UK as a fail-safe measure while waiting on something "bigger". I think he wanted a scholly offer from UT and he finally got it.

We now need McAdoo more than ever to help fill our needs.

Maybe he wants to not play until 2010 and subsequently be recruited over in future classes.

Well, that's the way it goes. Good luck to the kid.

Some of the reasons he gave for the switch were perfectly understandable, but this one made no sense at all:

"Kentucky wanted me to play defensive end full-time for most of the game. Tennessee said if I come in ready to play I can, but they’ll swap me out. I won’t have to play a full game and hurt the team. They’ll let me grow into the position.”

First, we are not so thin at DE that we would have been expecting him to come in as a freshman and carry the defense. Heck, he probably would have red-shirted anyway. And since when does a football player not want to play? What we usually hear is, "State U said I could come in and see the field as a freshman, maybe even start." This one is pretty puzzling.

^ Sounds like he's worried about playing too much! Strange if true.

Good luck to Willie. May his freshman year be the first of four or five staright losses to the Cats.

This just may help push Michael McAdoo to UK.

That is my point, exactly. Too much PT? Don't know what is going throught that kids mind. :shrug1:

With Jarmon, Paris, etc. I don't know where he got the too much PT argument. Never heard that one before.

McAdoo is a must get now. He down to UNC and UK. I've been to Keenan Stadium three times and it pales in comparison to Commonwealth. It's 40K of the wine and cheese golf clap crowd. Not much of a home field advantage.

Totally off topic, but UNC is such a high brow institution, it's funny how proud they are of Michael Jordan and how ashamed they are of Lawrence Taylor. MJ paraphenelia is everywhere (there used to be a bar called 23 Steps), but you ask 'em about LT and it's "uuhhh (cough, cough)....well um".

Then I heard some things from the (Tennessee) players on my visit and thought it was the right place for me.”

Something to the effect of "Oh, don't worry about breaking the law, we have a bailbondsman on payroll."

I had really worried about Bohannon when I had read my Cats' Pause. What a bummer!

Let's just hope we get some GOOD news soon, though, and that will hopefully be about Mr. McAdoo! :)
