Maybe in the last 3 years....

Playing on nothing but GUTS on the road.

Pretty proud of these Cats.

Seconded.

Five beat eight.

Minus Meeks, Bradley, and with Crawford hobbled.

Game ball (and major props) to Crawford.

Oh, and Coach Felton: You've gotta bring your guys up to Rupp later. Better have them lace 'em up tight, 'cause you're not gonna be able to pull that horrific cr@p like today.

If there ever was a true TEAM effort, this game today was all that.
I don't know if I've ever been prouder of a Wildcat team than this one.

Way to go, UK!

I agree:thumbup: This team has handled adversity. Meeks can't play and then Bradley who plays every minute gets knocked out of the game. Crawford can't walk and has one of his best games of his career. I don't know whats sorer, his feet or his back today, because he at times put this team on his back.

Coach G with a great timeout with two minutes left and UK looked lost on a offensive possesion.

Harris with a huge performance. Jasper and Patterson playing solid as usual.

The only negative I had today was the free throw shooting. But huge win. THis team will be tough to beat if we can get all our guys out on the floor 75% healthy.

 It was great to get a road win. Hopefully we can continue this momentum and get an at large bid to the dance!

There's nothing stopping us from winning the SEC outright. Our guys are as tough as anybody in the league. Just need to get a little luck to come our way.

It's coming. We may have to reach out and take it though! These Cats have grown a toughness that has been missing for a while now. They are capable of winning the SEC; we just really need every body healthy.

I am personally more pleased with this win than I was with the UT win.

What a tremendous effort. Can't wait to watch it again on the Tivo. :icon_mrgreen:

Best game of any UK team in several years. Iwas very proud of this team today to lose another starter and one playing at about 50% to pull off the win. Outstanding. OTS's teams couldn't have pulled that off cause they were soft and he didn't developethe depth like BCG.

:widcat::widcat: Go CATS!!!

It was a GREAT win for us. 1. It gives us a winning record for the season to date. 2. it was our first road winof the season. 3. It was Georgia's first home loss of the season. 4. With Meeks out, Bradly getting injured durring the game, and Crawford and Jasper playing hurt, we had every excuse to lose. Instead, we found a way to win. I'm so proud of these cats! Go Big Blue! Beat Auburn!

If anyone had told me before today that Meeks and Bradley would be out for this game, and that Joe was still hurting, I would not have guessed that they would be able to pull off the win. It's always tough on the road in the SEC, and to be so hobbled, and yet play with such courage . I think this is a huge step for these CATS. The confidence level should really go up! Kudos to all the guys, but as others have pointed out, Crawford and Patterson needed some help, and Porter and Harris stepped up to the challenge.

Now on to Auburn for the next big test. Here's hoping we can go in there healthier than we are now.

All the Cats across the board are getting better and better. Porter comes in and looks like a true SEC caliber PG. Harris HAD to produce and he did. Teams can't just play three guys on 2 Pat any longer.

Folks, that was one heck of a D UK beat today..

Crawford has the heart of a lion..

The Cats show just how out of whack the RPI can be. Does anyone in their right mind think the Cats are not a top 40 type team (and climbing)?

What a great road win! This team keeps getting closer and closer "bubble" territory. And I tell ya what...I would NOT want to be the team that has to face them a potential first round game as the "favorite".

I love the team's toughness. It's like a bunch of Chuck Hayes's running around out there.

I thought the worst. But, fellers, this team didn't wilt and reached down inside, set their jaws, and came back. I know that CBG said that no one will outwork this team, but he should have said that no one will out tough this team. I'm tellin' you, fellers, this team is a ball to watch and they provide the Blue Nation with real "strut" material. As much fun to watch as the "Unforgettables."

Lets not get carried away and I am certainly not trying to take away from a great win, but there is alot of basketball to play. The bottom line is we are 10 and 9 and have some must win games to play. Can we do it , most deffenately and I am very excited about what I am seeing. A 10 and 9 team is not going to be in the top 40 but if we keep playing hard and just get everyone healthy we surely could be that or better by tourney time.

Best effort of the season, bar none. Great, great win, this team is really growing on me. They are tough as nails and playing like a TEAM, for the first time in two or three years. I couldn't be any prouder of what i saw today if we won another title. Two goons pounding on Patrick all day, Joe so wracked by cramps he can barely walk, no Bradley, no Meeks and still we FOUND A WAY to win. This is good stuff folks, my kind of UK basketball.

I couldn't have said it better myself. But I have to equate the vandy and ut wins with this one. Beating uga at stegman with about a 70% healthy team is sensational, but let us not forget what our Cats pulled off in our Rupp games either. point is though, we are playing like a fine team folks, and I absolutely love it !!!!

GO CATS !!!!

If you judge this team by how they are playing right now, which I was, I very much disagree with you. To be honest, I figured someone would argue that they are playing like a top 25 team, not the other way around.

I will agree they are playing a lot better and maybe even top 20. If you talking about getting in the NCAA tourney unfortunatly they go by the entire year not a 3 game winning streak. I agree we have a shot at the NCAA tournament but there are a lot of games we must win. 3 games does not a season make so to speak. If you were just talking about playing like a top 25 team as a statement and not about making the tournament then I am sorry I misread your post.

I think we've played very well since the SEC started, all things considered.

We're still not healthy, and with a few breaks here or there could easily be 6-0 in this conference.

Yes, I'm talking about play right now, or since the start of SEC play. I wasn't going to give them "top 20" type ball in that stretch. I think if they get healthy, and continue improving, they could end up a top 20 type quality team. IF that happens, they have an at large, regardless of the SD/GW losses.

I think UK is currently a top #50 team. I need to see a little more consistency before I say they are playing like a top #25 team. There is just too many injuries right now.

Obviously, UK has proven they can beat a legit top 10 team. They are playing well but they need a few more signature wins at home and on the road before I see them truely as a top #25 team. Getting healthy would be a great help in achieving this goal.

I'm always very proud to be a UK fan, and especially right now. We must take care of business at Auburn, and then take them one at a time. If we can continue to play like we are, and get some people healthy, this could turn out to be a very special season.

I was impressed how Michael Porter and Ramon Harris upped their games.

Nothing against either of these guys but I think now that they are playing limited minutes as role players they are excelling.

This is their niche. Porter has shown that he can be good in spurts and limited playing time, a good spark off the bench. Harris has shown he can play some good D, you bring him in during late game situations, he has fresh legs, plays solid D, and can pick up garbage rebounds.

Everyone is falling more into their "role" now and we are starting to hit our stride. Buckle up cause i think more excitement is to come!!

Both play better in 10-15 minute stretches than whole games. They have holes in their games that get exposed with more playing time. However when mixed with other players they can be successful.

Great post and thread, ukbob. I, too, could not have been prouder of our guys as they overcame such adversity Saturday against Georgia. Again, KUDOS to Coach G and all the players. It was absolutely a TEAM win.

Also, good post, lighthouse. You are so right. we must take them ONE at a time. The Cats must give the same kind of effort on the road against Auburn. Let's hope they are healthier.

Yes, the season can turn out to be a "very special" one if the Cats continue to play with such grit and determination, along with gettng healthy. :) I just know I am becoming SO ATTACHED to this team, as I posted after the game. :) Again, though, you are right, lighthouse. It's ONE game at a time. GO CATS!!!
