Did anyone notice that Coach G was out there kneeling beside Ramel and it was Coach G that Ramel was leaning on as they walked him off the court? I don't want to make more out of that than necessary, but I think it speaks volumes of what kind of man we have as a coach. A lot of coaches would have let the trainers handle it themselves.

Since I didn't see the game, I didn't know this.
I agree , it means a lot. As a parent with kids who competed in college, I noticed when coaches beat trainers to injured players. I always saw it as an indication of closeness, of caring about the kids.
Awesome, that BCG is that kind of coach.

We have a whale of a coach, no doubt about it.

I have seen him out on the floor on at least two other occasions. Yeah, he is that kind of coach.

Yeah, I noticed that too. I wondered if Coach was out there, and then as they are helping Ramel off the court I saw that it was Coach Gillispie that Ramel was hanging on to.
It was surprising to me as usually coaches do not go out there, and if they do, they usually get an appraisal of the condition and go back to teh bench and start making substitutions, etc.
I was very surprised and very excited to see that Coach G stayed there until Ramel got up and was walked off the court, and even more happey to see Ramel holding on to Coach G as he walked off.
There is a bond between these players and this coach!

Coach Gillispie is as tough as nails on the players in practice, but he really loves them. He goes out of his way to help any of his players who really needs something. For example, giving Patrick Patterson a ride home after one of his friends was killed in an automoble accident last summer.

Well-said, Tom. Too, I think the UK players are now starting to realize just how much their "tough" coach does love them. Further, I think he has done a great job of making it clear to them that he is BEHIND them.
Good thread, BigBlue75, and, yes, I noticed. :)

Does anyone have any footage to share of Bradley sneaking back into the lineup and Coach walking him back to the bench? I would love to see it. I heard that Bradley was pleading to play all the way to the bench. Bradley is one tuff CAT and is all heart.

I didn't know it at the time but on rerun I saw BG was with Ramel. He has said "these are my guys" whenever anyone comments about the players. This is the evidence he has "adopted" them (I think). BG has bought into the players as much as the players have bought into BG. It's great to see.
