I'm happy with this class

With all the suspects :-) now signed but the late commit, I'm pleased with how we did. Yes, we lost some guys we wanted - Newman, McAdoo, Bohannon for example - but we also got some guys other, yes, "other", big programs wanted too - Cobb, Guy, & Boyd come to mind. So we're competing for top talent winning some, losing some. That's clear improvement versus looking back 3-4 years ago where our signees weren't much being pursued by top programs (Even though several were found to be better than advertised).

And to top that, everybody coming in is a freshman, not a JUCO in sight. That means the staff feels that they'd didn't have any big enough holes that needed immediate mature help and/or that the FR coming in are good enough to play if needed. And it means we think we can let a lot of these come into their own over time.

If all this isn't progress, I don't know what is. Good job, staff!

For the second year in a row, very short on DTs. Very troubling. Of the 3 this year, two are listed as "OL/DL," which means they are OL, and the other reportedly has not yet qualified and may have trouble doing so.

For the time being we are having to grow our own DT's.

McCord and Meisner from last year are slated as DT's with Glenn and Mustafaa possibles, depending on what the weight room brings. This year the suspects are Idumwonyi, maybe Smith and Rumph for sure if he qualifies.

I expect us to be on the minds of more of the higher rated D-linemen next fall.

It does indeed, gerntz. Thanks for the update. There's some confusion on another thread as to who he had signed with.
