Matt Roark and not Michael Tamburo. Darriet Perry and not Cordellaro Jones. Anthony McCloud and not DeAngelo Tyson. The Georgia Athletic Coaches Association released its all-state football team Thursday, and those were a few of the names that differed from the all-state teams released by the Journal-Constitution and Georgia Sports Writers Association in December.
Roark, the dual-threat running back from North Cobb who signed Wednesday as a wide receiver with Kentucky, was the coaches' choice for Class AAAAA north instead of the junior Tamburo, the prolific passer who led North Gwinnett to the state final.

Only two signees are from Georgia this year. That's about the fewest I can remember going back years and years.

Expect a few more next year. For one, LaGrange has a good group of incoming seniors (we have done well there), and two, UGA has only 14 scholarships to give this year, and they already have 5 commitments!

LaGrange was down this past year. Their stars were Jr or Sophs. Most years, we sign one or two Ga players in addition to the LaGrange pipeline.
