First, you hold a "pep rally" on Fourth Street Live to celebrate your football win. Now, UK is selling the DVD of the game? And you all call US little brother?

We beat you in basketball after a three year drought and I didn't see any pep rally and I certainly don't remember there being a DVD for sale of the game.

This is the very reason why I'm not posting here any longer and don't intend to. Game smack is one thing, but just pulling stuff out of thin air just to get a thread started and stir up a ruckus OVER NOTHING is absolutely stupid. The only thing worse than this is having banned posters blatantly ignore the rules and principles of this forum and post here under different names and act like we don't know what's going on.

I can take game smack with the best of 'em but this petty NONSENSE about who had more at what game, or who held what pep rally in downtown Louisville (as if you all really cared in the first place), or what the other teams RPI rating is, or what our strength of schedule is, or how many more hot dogs one stadium sold over the other, or how many people do or don't show up at Fan Day or ESPN Game Day or about a hundred other things I could name that is constantly brought up again and again, is just downright stupid. I admit it was funny for a while but not any longer.

The U of L fans who post here are good folks and I mean nothing personal, I've just grown tired of this nit-picky game of one-upmanship. If you all really think this is funny and you enjoy it, more power to ya. For me, I've got better things to do with my time.

First of all, I posted this to get this board to liven up a little. Since UofL beat UK in basketball, there has been a severe reduction in UK fans posting on here. I know this board was hopping after the football game and I was here to take all of your jabs and jokes, but now it seems no one wants to play anymore.

Secondly, this IS the RIVALRY and RIBBING board, is it not? We are Rivals and I'm giving you guys a RIBBING.

No one thinks it's a coincidence that UK has a DVD of their football team beating the number one team in America (and eventual National Champs) for sale along side of a DVD of you beating UofL? If UofL was as insignificant as you all pretend it to be, then why even sell this DVD?

I don't know if this is a case of an inferiority complex or just your Athletics Director trying to make a dime off of you fans. Either way, I think it's silly at best. You'd never see Tom Jurich come out with a DVD of UofL beating UK in ANY sport.

Last, but certainly not least, if you think this board isn't fun anymore, maybe it's you who has the problem. If you take this stuff so seriously that it makes you mad or not want to post here, then maybe you aren't a good fit for "smacking" in the first place.

All colleges do it when they beat a top ten team. True UL's season is pretty disappointing but at the time they were in the top ten. They are just trying to make a dime of the fans. But like I already said it isn't like all universities don't do it. UL does it they have a ton of those DVD's from season before last.

I wonder if they are going to put out a DVD of that win over Rutgers from last year. You would think if it was good enough for your 100 fans that were still in the stadium to rush the field they might be willing to fork over 20 bucks for it. Heck there were so few fans there they probably could pick themselves out of the crowd on the field. Does it pale in comparison? You guys rushed the field when you finished a season 500. That is pretty freakin bad regardless oh how you spin it.

All of the schools you mentioned are dominant in their respective sports so no they don't do it for individual games in those sports. UK is not a dominate football force so they make those DVD's of big games. UK doesn't make them in basketball because they are use to winning those games.

Im a huge fan of UK sports but a DVD is a little too far. Its not something I could watch over and over again like I can The Shawshank Redemption or Pulp Fiction. I would buy the DVD, watch it the day I get it so I dont feel like I wasted 15 dollars, and then never pull it off my shelf again
