Never heard of him before. By the way his rankings look, and the newfound interest in him, sounds like he could be a good get I guess.

Why is he still available if he is so good? Just curious...Not trying stir up dust.

Heels Check Out Senior Guard

The Tar Heels have already signed Larry Drew, Tyler Zeller and Ed Davis. While those three make a fine class, it appears that the UNC staff is interested in considering adding one more prospect to the mix.

The new target for the Tar Heels is Brad Tinsley, of Oregon (Ore.) Oregon City. According to sources close to the situation, North Carolina was one of a few schools that watched his team play Lakeridge Thursday evening.
Arizona State, Tennessee and Vanderbilt were at the Lakeridge game as well. Coaches from Utah, Oregon, Portland and Fresno State have also been spotted recently at Oregon City’s games.

Tinsley, a 6-foot-3, 190-pound combo guard, originally signed a Letter of Intent with Pepperdine, but was granted his release shortly after Vance Walberg’s resignation in January.

Nearly 30 schools have expressed interest since he got his release. To go with the schools that have visited, Tinsley has heard from Wake Forest, Virginia, Wisconsin, Iowa, Marquette, Notre Dame, Drake, Colorado, California, Oregon State, Oklahoma, Butler and Saint Louis.

"We are in no rush," Tinsley's father, Carl, said earlier in the week. "We are going to let him play and I’m going to try and filter things out and eventually in a couple of weeks we’ll sit down and I’ll show him the list and try to get some feedback."

When Tinsley, who is ranked No. 95 overall and No. 19 at the shooting guard spot, was granted his release he essentially became the best guard available not named Tyreke Evans or Scotty Hopson.

The talented senior is averaging 23 points and just under six assists per game. Recently Tinsley broke the 2,000-point mark for his career and through last week he ranked 11th all time in Oregon high school basketball history.

Led by Tinsley’s superb play this season, Oregon City

Great white ball players are certainly not as rare as a great white boxer. As for the race issue, people do bring it up quite a bit, because great white players don't come around very often. But, the really good white players seem to go to Kansas, UNC, or Duke. Lately, the only "great" white ballers seem to come from europe. Rex Chapman is the "only great" white kid that I can remember coming out of the state of Kentucky, in the last 40 years.

As for the racial makeup of UK teams, I prefer a player that bleeds blue and could care less if they are pale, light skinned, red bone, dark skinned, or any other skin color one can think of.

The videoes on this kid are outstanding. Great hops, ball handling and terrific outside shooter.

I have my doubt if he comes east this far.

He had commited to Pepperdine, and then their coach resigned via rivals.com

Same here, boomdaddy, and, frankly, I cannot see it differently. I don't really "see" the color of one's skin, period.

It's truly the inside that counts. Yes, that blood, which is inside the body, does need to be blue, as you say. :icon_mrgreen:
